  1. DEMONSTRATION BELOW P.S. Thanks to @Scotty for recording the demonstration above <3.
  2. SMALL HEADS UP: Pictures/videos will be uploaded to illustrate this better (if I can edit the forum post :/).
  3. Wow that screenshot. Makes sense restart triggers backup. If that's the only point at which backups are made, then it'd be kinda pointless IMO. Otherwise if my suspicions are correct then it's on a timer/cron job/something of sorts.
  4. Damn I never knew my base back then (Fig. 1) was targeted lol. Thanks. - DrJeff_Linux
  5. Is it possible to implement in a user's Settings Page a "Default Signature" tab or likewise? Allow me to explain. You see some e-mail services giving you a way to put a default signature message at the bottom of an e-mail? I think some people, including myself, might benefit from that. I understand if this isn't really a priority for staff. If it is actually implemented, I REALLY hope I'm not missing any account features like this. - DrJeff_Linux
  6. I think it's a good plan. However, depending on the autosave rate (which I am unaware of, correct me if I am wrong pls), the more frequently it autosaves the less it would be practical/acceptable for some folks. Announcing through chat can pose the issue of chat contamination. F1 console seems like a good idea, but I find scenarios in my head that make me see people complaining about it. I guess it's all depending on frequency. - KJ
  7. Introduction I have noticed many players, even some veterans, blown away by parking an Attack Helicopter in a heli garage, just as you'd do with a minicopter. As people keep having stuff stolen from their attack helis, I'd like to divulge this useful info for our fellow pilots that are not aware of this trick. Requirements - As a minimum a 2x4 space. However, I recommend making it longer by one, even two spaces, just for mobility's sake - Said garage to be filled with Wall Frames. This one is optional, bear in mind, but I've learnt to build this way to avoid the heli going off-course. It is your choice whether you'll need them and/or if you'll upgrade them. To park you just do the usual "Ctrl" to drive in a straight line. If the attack heli starts levitating/tilting, alternate back to normal flying to stabilize it in the ground. Repeat until you're able to get your attack heli inside/outside. You'll get the hang of it very quickly. Caveats - (uncertain how and whether it works) Garage doors have a sliiight chance of crushing your heli. Take this with a grain of salt, as this has only happened to me once, almost a year ago. I can't replicate the circumstances. - Might be harder, slightly, to open/close garage door without leaving heli. - Building will be blocked in a bigger area while parked inside. Slight annoyance, you'll see if that annoys you. Conclusion With the info provided, though not too detailed, I trust you can have more measures to avoid griefing/stealing from your helicopter. I hope this helps you to better secure your attack helis. Take it or leave it, and share it with your peers if you wish to. Stay RustEZ, Jeff
  8. I appreciate dearly the suggestion. Will check it out right now. Regarding Nix: I am ignorant of it since I settled with Arch (I use Arch btw); I haven't done much distro-hopping lately. I have heard it being mentioned frequently, though. I may give it a try soon... if my ADHD head doesn't erase that info from my head lol. P.S. Apologies for such a late response, I forgot to check the forums completely until today.
  9. Hello There! Hello! I'm Dr. Jeff, "(Linux) Dr. Jeff" in Steam. I'm a 23yo student from Mexico that loves experimenting with free software. I love coding IRL, talking about stuff, and consider myself as a very outgoing individual when playing. If I'm able to assist, you'd better bet I'll try. My tolerance for griefers/thieves/raiders/toxic players is NULL, but no retribution is good in my eyes either. About Me...? I am an IT student, amd very introverted, and have Adult ADHD. I'm a Free Software and Open Source Software supporter. I also love providing support for anyone whose computer behaves badly. I love analyzing music, I love listening to some good tunes. Ah, yes, I LOVE Radiohead, so my depression may be evident to you. If you'd like to share music with me, please! Don't hold it in! I play on the Pure US servers daily for the time being, so you can ping me and go off in an adventure!
