I think use of the Auto-Farm plugin could potentially give the US Scourge server a much needed boost to performance. Currently, most of the fresh water areas are plagued by huge mega farms that are absolutely tanking both server and client performance. Without raiding to keep the balance in check, this type of building becomes cancerous to the server. 

My solution would be to use auto-farm. They are a single placeable planter, with a built in sprinkler (and i believe server configurable heater/light). They come with industrial storage adapters built in, so players can hook them up to their automation systems and can even be set up to make clones. Yes, that means that players can have their farms running 24/7. Thus, to counter that, the server could limit the number of them per player to 4 or 5 or whatever admins feel is appropriate, and disable vanilla planters entirely. This means that the players interested in farming, can still have their large farming operations in essentially a 2x2 or 3x3 base instead of 40x40, which would significantly reduce the number of entities the server has to track.

Obviously, this will initially be unpopular with some of the more prolific farmers. But, I think this would be good for overall server health, and longevity of the player base.

something like this probably won't be added as it is a license to print money if you hare having issues with a base that is creating lag spots on the server have a talk with your admins they can then talk with the player in question about toning it down a bit

As Sweet tooth said i don't know if that can be added here in scourge. About the limit of planters per player, i'm not against of something like that but where should they put the limit?

We have noticed that this Jan map has atleast for us the worst performance since we are playing here in EU scourge (i can't imagine US server with more players) and one of a few reasons may be that all the monuments/populated areas and outpost&bandit are close to each other and surrounded by rivers and swamps and you just need to add a few farms there to make it worse. It doesn't have to be a 1000 planters farm. Devs should keep that in mind for the next maps.

We had a farm with +400 planters near outpost (3 floors), first day was ok we were alone there good performance, 2nd day ok, 3rd day i started to get bad fps sometimes ,checked outside and there was only 2 small farms nearby, lets say 40 planters with 2 PJ's. On the fourth day i loged in and i was getting 30 fps inside the farm checked outside again and all was the same. We have downgrade the farm to 1 floor and 144 planters and we are getting the same bad performance.
