Staff Raul Posted December 5 Staff Report Posted December 5 This is a RustEZ feature where players can merge one or multiple of the same entities into one for the sake of reducing server overload where at the same time not losing productivity. Upgrading For the most part, levels 1 through 10 only require one of the same placed item with no additional Net Worth. Furnaces Level 1 to 10: requires 1 item with no additional Net Worth required Level 10 to 15: requires 1 item and 2,500 Net Worth Level 15 to 20: requires 1 item and 5,000 Net Worth Quote The following are the current level-able entities: Regular Furnace Large Furnace Legacy Furnace Electric Furnace Oil Refinery Levels multiply the following: Burning fuel & rate Charcoal production Cooking time Power consumption (for Electric Furnaces*) (level 1 through 19, 20 is free) Water Pumps and Purifiers Level 1 to 5: requires 1 item with no additional Net Worth required Level 5 to 10: requires 1 item and 1,000 Net Worth Level 10 to 15: requires 1 item and 2,500 Net Worth Level 15 to 20: requires 1 item and 5,000 Net Worth Quote The following are the current level-able entities: Water Pump Powered Water Purifier Levels multiply the following: Power consumption (level 1 through 19, 20 is free) Amount per pump Water stack size Max. output flow Autofill amount Amount to process per minute (Purifier) Pending fresh water (Purifier) Water Catcher Level 1 to 10: requires 1 item with no additional Net Worth required Level 10 to 15: requires 1 item and 1,000 Net Worth Level 15 to 20: requires 1 item and 2,500 Net Worth Quote The following are the current level-able entities: Small Water Catcher Large Water Catcher Levels multiply the following: Water caught Water stack size Max. output flow Water Barrel Level 1 to 10: requires 1 item with no additional Net Worth required Level 10 to 15: requires 1 item and 1,000 Net Worth Level 15 to 20: requires 1 item and 2,500 Net Worth Quote The following are the current level-able entities: Water Barrel Levels multiply the following: Water stack size Max. output flow Composter Level 1 to 10: requires 1 item with no additional Net Worth required Level 10 to 15: requires 1 item and 1,000 Net Worth Level 15 to 20: requires 1 item and 2,500 Net Worth Quote Levels multiply the following: Composting interval (300s at level 1, 5s at level 20) Sprinkler Level 1 to 5: requires 1 item with no additional Net Worth required Quote Levels multiply the following: Water per splash Power consumption * At level 5, Sprinklers can steadily splash 2x2 planters full of Orchids. PSA: When upgrading to the maximum level, all electrical entities receive a free level of power consumption. This means that level 20 multiplies everything, except the power usage, using the same amount as a level 19 entity. 10
Enivoke Posted December 7 Report Posted December 7 This is an amazing feature, like so much that I am considering building another farm when I said I might take the wipe off and just spend some networth and do other things. Although I am still seeing farms with over 10 pumps causing slight lag on the area, maybe there is a limit of 5* for each entity per grid of that specific player, after that the player is given a notification that they can upgrade their existing entites whch would give them a total of 100 levels each if they could afford it of course. But the MAJOR lag that players experience is from sprinklers. It would be nice if somehow we could upgrade our sprinklers to produce more water and higher AoE that way we can have one of them manage an entire floor, or just a few depending on how it's constructed, of course it would take the necessary water and items from your inventory to do so. In the end this is an AMAZING plugin, hopefully it can be expanded to more things as mentioned above to reduce it even further and acknowledge that the plugin exists to players, because I didn't even know it was there until someone mentioned it on the chat. *Subject to change 2
Theodore Baggins Posted December 17 Report Posted December 17 @Enivoke unless I'm mistaken, I think the "more water per splash" means with upgraded sprinklers that they will indeed output more water. It doesn't change the AoE except for orchids and plants with bad W genes where, by extension of the increased water output, a single sprinkler can do a 2x2 grid. (Before the AoE was effectively limited by output) From what I understand (Raul can correct me), the water processing queue is done server-side, and the more water components there are on the server, the more global lag there is to all water activity on the server (e.g. delay with everyone's sprinklers). However, I believe the particle effects of a sprinkler are rendered purely on your computer—the lag you experience from sprinklers is therefore largely a product of your graphics settings. Try decreasing particle and object quality and see if it helps your frames! Othwrwise, there's not a huge amount that can be done to decrease the item quantity in your PC's render queue other than the heavy-handed approaches of your draw distance, LOD bias, and things like turning off skins. 2
