that's a FP thing. You can stack more vertically so it shouldn't even be fixed

that may also be just for the event

coffins can lie down but they need to up against a wall.
It was an unfortunate change by FP to do after many players had placed them, considering the old version would explode when something (building/hammer/gun fire) happened nearby.
