items vanishing from inventory and from base?

My backpack emptied in the same way about an hour ago.

another player RockyMountain808 has had the same odd thing happen:  they open their backpack and things disappear while they are looking at them.  However, in this case, i found that a zombie the player had killed had somehow taken their missing items.
