if you have a functioning car on lift and you have it locked on lift anyone can go to the lift and make a key and steal your car or dismantle it for the parts 

Would cutting power  to the lift via a switch that's only accessible by you solve the issue?

That works as FacePunch intended. Your best option, is to turn the power off and strip the chassis  prior to logging out.
