Players Aggroing Paid Attack Helis

Recommended Posts

I just got done building my attack heli tower, which required like 24 garage doors. I busted my butt getting everything perfect and armored, and decided to fight an attack heli. I paid 5,000 credits and threw the flare. In the middle of my fight two players began trying to aggro it away from me. It seems like it somebody spends that many credits, they should be allowed to fight their heli (or Brad) in peace.

It doesn't matter which server this is. It should be a rule on all of them. I have no problem with fighting over the normally spawned heli, but our own personal ones should be off limits. It announces it in chat, so there should be no confusion about who owns the heli. I may be wrong about this, but I'd appreciate clarification about the rules on our own personal paid-for helis and Brads. Thanks!

From the FAQ

Personal distress signals ("Apache Distress Signal" and "APC Distress Signal") allow players to call in an Attack Helicopter or Bradly APC to fight. Signals are purchased in the black market on our modded servers using in-game credits (Net worth).

When a player deploys the Apache Distress Signal, a server message will appear in global chat: Playername used a distress signal to intercept an attack helicopter.  The attack helicopter will move to your location on the map. When a player deploys the APC Distress Signal, the Bradley APC will spawn at Launch Site.

The player who deployed the signal will always be able to loot the resulting crates. Up to four additional players who participate and meet the minimum damage threshold will also have their own instanced versions of loot crates.

These events are instanced to allow others on the server to participate while ensuring the signal owner will receive loot for their efforts. They are not designed for a single player or team to solo challenge.

If you are unwilling to allow other to participate, then consider using the signals during off-peak hours when there's fewer players online or not purchasing them at all. Admins will not be involved with disputes arising from who participates in these events.

Hope this helps!

I believe it was last wipe that Tia and I found that with the attack helicopter signal even if you are the one to deploy it, you're not guaranteed to loot all the crates. Sometimes we only got one or two or none. Rose told us that it was the first four people who meet the minimum damage and get to the crates first that get loot. So if a lot of players shot it you may want to be quick to the crates or you may only get one or two. I hope it was a bug that has been fixed because I agree it does suck to spend the NW and not get to loot the heli.

With called in events the top 3 players get loot, plus the caller. Instead of top 4 with public events. If you encounter an issue where the caller cannot loot please submit a but report at https://rustez.com/bugs so we can have a look.
