Admins should not play on the servers they are responsible for...

As a dedicated EU Survival player in this community, I believe that admins should not be allowed to play on the servers they oversee. This policy could ensure that players handle issues and bugs independently, without relying on admin intervention. Additionally, it would prevent potential toxic behavior! or power abuse! from admins who might otherwise use their authority to mistreat players or manipulate the game to benefit themselves and their friends.

This is just my personal opinion, and I acknowledge that it might not align with the views of the community's leadership. However, after three years (O.o) of playing here, I felt it was important to share my perspective.

Personally i disagree completely. Admins have policies to go by, some of which are not replacing lost items for players fyi, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to play on the servers the love and helped grow. 
Admins are volunteers, who give up their free time to help out the servers, and to take away their ability to play on them, would be the wrong move. 
Based on the tag you've made, and being a regular player on EU survival myself, i can say for certain that the Admin team on there, are by far one of the most honest, fair and genuine Admin teams on the whole of RustEZ. They do everything they can to benefit the server, and playerbase, and to make a post like this, due to being upset about losing stuff, really isn't fair to them.

Okay but how? Surely if an issue/bug would require an admin to start with it makes no difference whether they main Pure, Survival or Scourge. In fact it'll be a negative in some areas as they won't have the specialised knowledge that comes with playing on that server such as what non vanilla things you can put storage adapters on, on survival.

All I could see this achieving is an increased wait time for help as if the admin responsible for your server is playing already then they'd have to get somewhere safe, go home, finish what they are doing etc and then log off the server they are on already to login to your server to provide help rather than just a quick teleport over to you.

Another negative here is that not everyone uses discord and this would increase the amount of times you'd need to use discord to contact an admin.

If they are going to assist players, it should be extended to everyone, not just their friends and team members. I believe administrators should be monitored for their behavior, as they have the potential to misuse their power and become toxic.its happening everyday in our server.

Admins should be helping everyone regardless of their relationship with the player(s) in need of assistance.  I'll admit, theres been players plenty of times that i cant stand, or who i feel will undoubtedly earn themselves a ban, however i go out of my way to help them just the same as multi-year regulars.  

 

On the flip side of that, there are certainly times where "assistance" may not look or feel like it, and unfortunately that's part of the policies we must follow at times, such as a case where a mini is stolen for example.  I can be provided all the screenshots in the world that it existed, however i cant replace it unless i'm able to ascertain it was actually stolen and/or crashed, which at times can be difficult.  

I would suggest, if you truly feel an admin is exhibiting favoritism or other poor behavior, to bring it up to the head admin of your server or, if it is the head in question, to leadership.  Staff members and their roles can be found in the help tab of the website under "staff"

hello ,I definitely agree with your point. If they help players without requiring proof, it wouldn’t be a true survival experience. I also want to emphasize how wonderful our admins are; they even donate their own items. However, don't complain about loot. The only issue I have is that sometimes headadmins can be a bit toxic, as they may feel they have the power to make fun of players. My concerns are mostly with the headadmin, not the regular admins on my server.

also Admins should ensure that their personal opinions do not affect their behaviors, as it is unprofessional. No one should tolerate an admin making fun of a players in any kind, If they continue to treat players poorly we have no power to stop it, other than suggesting changes, also might need to consider stop playing on servers where they have the authority to be safe.(which is really sad for a community lover)

Hello Iron, I would just like to ask for some clarification regarding your issue with myself (Head admin of EU Survival) and for evidence of where this toxicity and making fun of players has come from?

Due to me being very ill the past few days, as I explained to you in #help on the RustEz discord channel a few days ago I haven't been online on the server until last night and even then there was absolutely no negative interactions between yourself and I. From the screenshots I have been sent and reviewing the chat logs it is clear that your issue is with another admin due to the fact that, firstly they wouldn't replace your low grade fuel after the server had crashed. And secondly, due to them not giving the information of who owned a base near your heli tower, which is against admin policy to disclose this information which you have been informed about multiple times from 2 other admins from my team.

I am genuinely confused about how most of your concerns are now with myself (the head admin as you claim) as we have always had a positive interaction on the server, but if you do feel I have mistreated you, you can feel free to reach out to leadership on the matter.

First of all, Bunny, while you were writing this text, @shadow accused me of lying about the LGF loss after the server crash. Then, he deleted his Discord message and claimed it was his brother using his account . intresting

Second I dont feel comfertable when you and your partner are making fun of me and my english, its out of my control I dont feel safe texting in discord chat or game chat bcs of you guys. 

Thirdly, I have no issue with losing loot, and I haven't asked any admins about my neighbor base! I'm not sure what you're referring to.

Ok, enough is enough, and personally i do not care if i get into trouble for this. You are nothing short of a liar. This is the 2nd time you have accused me of this, and now you are accusing my partner. Neither of us have ever said anything, or made fun of your English. That is a very dangerous accusation to make. You are completely lying, and for what reason i do not know. Why don't you take this to leadership, since all the evidence can be brought forward.

I've been through the logs and I can't see any instance of people being rude, I can see things were tense in chat, but nobody ever made fun of your English or mocked you in any way. Because it's text, sometimes it's easy to assume a tone that isn't there.

I really do think you're seeing a perceived slight that was never there to start with, which has escalated. I really do think further discussions of this matter are best taken to leadership

I have checked all the logs and no one is trying to silence you with their power. Considering I was in game last night during the interaction, which I was only responding to another players question and you were responding also. Which has been my second interaction with you in months. First interaction was responding in the help channel to your request, which as I have already stated I have been very unwell and couldn't access my pc to help at that time. Neither interaction has shown any form of toxicity towards your English or any disrespect. 

Regarding you asking about the base owner, here are the logs:

Due to our policy and guidelines we cannot share that sort of info to players regardless of the situation. If you happen to catch them online and they say they are the owner that's a different story.

It's not the end of the world for me, and I'm willing to take a break from playing EU Survival. However, I want to ensure that admins treat players with respect!!, and they don't accuse us of lying, It's disheartening when some individuals negatively impact the community. I genuinely appreciate the RustEZ community  and the efforts of the leadership to make this great, but I need to step away due to recent actions to feel safe and also not to have a intraction with both of you guys.
