Id just like to put my two pence forward for some suggestions, not for a particular server but for the community.

I have been monitoring the player population over the past few weeks on EU survival and EU scourge. Survival has had around 20-30 players on an evening and Scourge around 50-60.

There are some features on both that certain people like; however, you are hosting 4 servers per region for Scourge and Survival.

My suggestion would be to merge Survival and Scourge into one server; this would

Save server running costs, making it so there are more funds available for better servers.

Bring more people together as a community.

Features would include: Decay, same as Scourge (as everything is easier on Survival, upkeep wouldn't be a problem)) Pipes addon, Zombies 

If this suggestion is thought upon, people could vote on the features they want or don't want.

 

If this isn't the way forward, I do believe there is an opportunity for players to transfer some net worth (at the staff's discretion) to either Scourge or Survival. The one rule would be that it could only be done once, and not all of your net worth, as with Survival it's easier to get net worth.

 

The reason I'm suggesting this is because I started on Scourge with my friend and I absolutely love it; however, some of the features on Survival are very interesting and could make the gameplay much better for certain individuals.

 

If anyone else has any other suggestions, please post and discuss.

I think the biggest resistance to merging those servers isn't so much the features people want but the ones people don't want.

If a player doesn't want zombies then what server would they use? It leaves them with Pure only, not sure that would be popular.

Your suggestion effectively amounts to the removal of Survival and add pipes and quarries to Scourge, add 50% more players to Scourge (assuming you don't lose any players) and hope performance doesn't tank. 

Networth is pretty easy to accrue on any of the servers, not sure networth server transfers would be worth the effort in my opinion and, for me at least, starting fresh without the NW is part of the fun. 

Between all EU, AU, US, JP Scourge & Survival servers (plus Elysium) I'm pretty sure EU and US Scourge are the only servers I don't have at least few 100K NW, most >1mil. Just play a wipe or 2 on the other server and you'll not really notice the NW, 2mil or 20mil, it's effectively the same.

I'm in favour of Networth resets with skill resets, a minority position of 1 person I'd guess, so I'm probably a bit biased on NW 😉

I agree, some people want some things, some dont want others, I would personally like Pipes, No Decay and Zombies, however thats not possible, the main issue im alluding to here is overall a money saving cost for the community and a balanced server for everyone to play on.

Im 100% against a NW reset, as ive only been playing 2 months the issue i face is that i want to play both servers, cause i like the features on both, but its simply not possible to do so right at this moment.

Since Facepunch implemented a lot of the defining features of Survival it doesn't seem much different now of days but I hope to fix this soon by expanding on automation and replacing the zombie aspect with more challenging npcs at monuments.

I would love to see NPCs either zombies or others that actually attacked bases. The current zombies are not challenging and need to be increased in numbers. In terms of it being a zombies server I would like to see an increase in zombies. More zombie types. Them actually attacking bases unprovoked to force people to design bases with the zombies in mind. Actually building defences like auto turrets and barricades. I know no one wants to see honeycomb on a scourge server but designing bases with zombie attacks in mind should 100% be a factor on the server.

The entire open world should present a challenge not just the monuments just like in PVP rust. In PVP ofc the open world is made difficult by players and the zombies should give that same feel in the open world. If you isolate the challenge to monuments only I very sadly would have to change server.

Zombies do already attack bases, build near roads that spawn loot. If you are in range of a spawned zombie and have it's agro (it can see you) it will start to attack your base that you have auth a tc on. This is why find shop/bases that run turrets near roads, paths and monuments.

If it's the NPCs currently on Elysium there is one issue I find frustrating.

Once you shoot them at 'medium' range they 'w key' you to close the distance but are immune to damage as they move to point blank range. This means that you hit 5 head shots as they run in then they hose you when they stop (and the shotguns just one shot you). It's a bit like playing against a cheater.

The workaround is to snipe them at 'long range' or CQB them at 'short range' where they don't run at you. You can also shoot them at medium range then run away which puts them into a little running loop where they can be injured as they turn. Short range is tricky due to their grenades though 🤔 (but I do love a challenge). It still works but often doesn't feel great.

This could just be a me issue due to AU to US latency.  If it's not then this could be a big issue on Survival rather than for us masochists on Elysium. 

I really love the challenge of the Elysium NPCs though, especially the defenders for Heli & Brad and CH47 crates, makes them a little more interesting. I love having to fight NPCs at every monument, clearing DB wielding NPCs just to recycle at Oxums does lend a Survival feel.

Of course this is all just assuming the better NPCs as seen on Elysium. Can't wait to see the what does get added on Survival. It should be fun.
