I'm Delta, playing since Beta, and with EZ for years now, mostly on the Pure server with some sidesteps to Elysium. I posted this idea some days ago but it seems to have vanished, on request I'm writing this again:

The intention was to come up with an idea to get people to build more responsible and lean, without slapping out the rulebook and narrow the game experience. A FUN way to get entities down. Basically it meens to beat lagg bottum up with help of the community.

As an example: If people know how much lagg windmills cause and if they have a reasonable alternative for them chances we will see alot of  them are conciderably lower. Same goes for setting up a very effective invetory system, halving the number of conveyors needed.

There are quite a lot of dedicated players, knowledgable or even very specialized in different parts of the game that are willing to contribute to the servers and communities. There is a lot of Q & A going on in the chats and discord to testify to that. I also observe that people as soon as the know.. and know how,.. start to build differently. Windmills get replaced by solar, people upgrade their twig, secure their bases better, build more effective conveyor setups, make them switch of their light during day automatically, Shut down industry when offline etc.

All because its kinda cool to have or make that and because you know how and why.

Goal of the workshop would be three fold. Get people to build more effective and resposible; have a nice communitydriven thing running;  save admins time.

What if we would ask some people to share that knowledge in groups, or through discord even making it a crossserver thing ? Just a couple of ideas:

>>> 101 electronics: how to set up your solarpanels and batteries: how do i set up my electric grid and basic lighting? (extra attention too: the effect of windmills and how to switch everything OFF conveniently)

>>> Advanced Industry: How to set up your inventory sorting system with integrated melting/refining (extra attention to the need to keep it lean, effective conveyor usage, etc etc)

>>> Farming : how to build your farm right (and what is the effect on your neighbores)

>>> Building 101 : tips and tricks for building in PVE style (and the effect on server performance)

This might seem as an elaborate idea, but i dont think it is much more then having one players explain how the boombox works to another , but with an audiance, so he doesnt have to do it 20 times. These people will spread that knowledge. By channeling that into a format, EZ can ensure performance is also part of what is "taught". I can see myself do a course on advanced building for instance. Key will be to ask the right people, from there it could even be a cross-server thing.

love , Delta Δ

Information sharing of this nature can be really beneficial.

Perhaps another approach could be to produce short videos for different topics, such as building, farming, doing monuments etc that are then available to watch at any time. This could be in conjunction with a workshop that adds to the video.

Another topic could be on the specific RustEZ rules relating to camping, stealing, raiding etc. I understand it would be almost 100% people that intend to follow the rules that would bother to watch them but it may be good for clarity.

E.g how big is too big, how far out from the base can you TC, when does doing a monument like cargo or oil rig go from world event that everyone can do to griefing, how to split heli/brad loot on pure etc.
