  1. 1. Would you like to see decay enabled for our Pure servers?

Good morning players,

wanted to add something as a Pure player with a consistent team for around 2 years on EU Pure.
All of us voted YES on decay purely for obnoxious mega bases which drops the FPS to to singular numbers and random foundations/claiming territory TCs.

Before every wipe we make plans: join a build server and decide on the next build by sharing ideas and using common sense by checking what would it cost to upgrade from twig a.k.a how much time would it cost us to build and upkeep and still have a life. Making these preparations really help with long term approach how the upkeep management of resources should be handled. Anyone who visited our bases saw and confirmed that the spaces are maximised for comfort and appropriate upkeep, with decent decoration and areas for community.

Another interesting phenomenon us and some other older players noticed is that people just don't farm 😄 they would rather camp diesel and wait in a line at the excavator than pick up a jackhammer and do it manually. We have a strong farmer in our team who does not believe in the excavator and it takes him some  pure ore tea and 30min of his time to farm full box of stone. The amount of nodes we have on the map is sufficient for everyone, you can fly through the juiciest mountain with nodes and people in chat will write that they are buying stone just because they don't want to move further than Bandit camp for drone delivery. Sad truth for which I might get pooped on - people have full teams but not one wants to farm.

I've read through all discussion about this matter, all pros and cons should be be taken into account. Maybe the solution is softer decay? Because when we had building purge changed from 7 to 10 days, middle of the wipe was unbearable to play, we have markers on the map showing us which places with giga bases and twig  on the map we should avoid while flying helis so we don't crash due to rubberbands and lags 😞

So our opinion is this: make time to make plans for the optimal base and do the farming. Somebody even made automatic upkeep scheme in this discussion, so everything is possible if you make it so. Decayed twig, getting rid of  abandoned buildings and building smaller+smarter bases will make a big difference on performance and minimize our crashouts on lost attack helis due to penis towers not loading.

When I was first deciding whether to give a PvE server a try and transition from PvP servers, I was looking for one that didn't make many alterations to the base Rust experience, other than getting rid of PvP. Pure seemed to be the closest I could find to that, but I admit that seeing the No Decay feature gave me quite a bit of pause. I very nearly decided to pass because of that, but at the last minute late on wipe day I decided to give US Pure a try anyway. I ended up not minding the no decay as much as I thought I would, until it got later into the month and the lag made the server really difficult to play. So even though I very much found the server that was right for me and have kept coming back ever since, and I'm so glad I did, it was really in spite of the No Decay feature, not because of it.

I have no idea if I'm just an outlier and there are way more players drawn to Pure specifically because of the No Decay feature, but I figured I'd provide the perspective of someone who almost didn't give this wonderful server a chance specifically because of that feature.
