Elysium's October Custom Map

Years ago, back in 2022 there were facepunch commits of a volcanic biome (hackweek-caldera), which unfortunately never made it into the game files. I was interested in this idea before, but have further got inspired by those commits and have since been planning for this volcanic themed map, resulting in the following

It started with violent earthquakes. The ground cracked open, volcanoes erupted, tearing through buildings and burying towns in ash. Cities collapsed in chaos. Those who made it out alive grabbed what they could and scattered across the map, forming camps, building shelters & fighting to survive. Out here, it's every survivor for himself. No mercy. Just fire, ash… and the will to outlast the rest.

I hope so may your base survive the wipe better upgrade from twig fast just in case

the video showed the volcano erupting , just thinking if it did damage . It could be like the electrical storms where the event happens but @Catatonic21 changed the damage it did to bases to zero.

Ironically, I was just talking about the volcano in the September map, saying "wouldn't it be cool if the volcano erupted and map was in the aftermath of said eruption at end of wipe." Well whomever was following us and overheard the conversation.issed the last part, " at end of wipe." This is going to be a lot of fun

the original version was in the last day or so of wipe, the volcano would erupt, sending people down the mountain with fiery lava into the sea, boiling them alive, and making them excellent shark food. the original idea was to have huge boulders that would crush people at randomized patterns, combined with a fiery hailstorm that might accidentally set people on fire. HQM would withstand for a short period of time, with Steel becoming molten quickly, Rock being of sturdier stuff, and Wood just becoming pure ash. 

 

At least, that's what the initial planning was.
