  1. 7 day purge for inactivity right? Or did that change? While there are a lot of trolls that come in just to cause chaos, there are also new people who maybe didn't know stealing fell under raiding in this server. I've seen other server rule pages, there is plenty of room to add no stealing or trespassing. I could see your point if this server hadn't just undergone a huge change and lost a lot of long time players. I would say now would be the perfect time for a major change like this. On another note. The Pepe thing. I would argue that while how you treat people on the server and in general may be respectful and polite, some people will see your avatar as a hate symbol and you will unintentionally grief them or they may think you are making a political statement even if you aren't. I got a 7 day ban over what people FEEL griefing is vs what griefing actually is. Didn't I just see someone get banned for inappropriate political signage on another EZ server?
  2. People act like people who steal in Rust are bad actors. They are literally playing within the gameplay set by Facepunch for this game. The pure servers just coddle people way too much in my opinion. My 7 day (wipe) ban has made me look into other PVE servers to find what I am missing in the Pure servers. I just want a true pure vanilla PVE server. No pvp damage and no base damage from other players. Other than that pure vanilla gameplay. Maybe i'll find it out there somewhere.
  3. A 7 day ban is basically a wipe ban, so I'll take it. I won't rebuild this wipe.
  4. I would like to appeal this ban to a 5 day. The sign infringement wasn't malicious just a bit of fun. I realize humor varies... But the rules don't state anywhere I can find that altering signs is prohibited. People can use the "Lock Edits" feature on the sign to prevent this. The rules regarding greifing seem to be very vague and can be interpreted in many ways, and are not definitively explained. I thought greifing was doing something intentionally to harm or ruin gameplay for others. Editing a sign doesn't do either, unless you put up slurs or profanity, of which I did neither. I have no excuse for the 7/29 warning. I said what I said. Yesterday's infraction was hardly griefing, but again is up to interpretation. I at no time intentionally meant to grief anyone. I was informed that trespassing is considered raiding, and I just don't see how that is. Raiding is forcefully or otherwise entering a build with intent to loot. I again didn't do this. I had no intent to loot, and took nothing. It's almost impossible to enforce trespassing. I can build an open build and just not put any signs up, then when people enter it, I can report them?? This is why we always talk about locking your builds. If you don't want people to enter, don't make it so they can. People come through my builds all the time without my permission. Just yesterday someone was swimming in the lower part of my build. They were harmless so no need to report them. I was never asked to leave or anything like that either. I left of my own accord once I was heli safe. Yes, I did get stuck and kill a horse to get unstuck. They must have had about 50 horses, it was ridiculous. I should have told them I killed one of the horses, but at that moment, it didn't seem like they would want to allow me to make it right.
  5. We should revisit this poll. A lot of the people who commented and voted no have moved to other servers. Now especially with no salvage hammer functionality there are so many ghost bases that are just standing there empty and won't decay, causing less space for incoming players and unnecessary lag.
  6. The server is not toxic. If you want a building simulator, you could play Minecraft.
  7. I have a suggestion for the Pure servers. Since transitioning back to the community tab I have noticed an uptick in people who seem new to Rust joining the server which is great. I have also noticed they don't seem to understand what Rust is, a survival game. I am suggesting making the server less forgiving by also giving the admins less work. Most Rust players at one time or another learned the hard way if you don't secure and lock your stuff, someone will take it. I think that is a great way to learn to build better and think better about how you approach playing this game. The admins spend so much time essentially making new players whole because they don't secure their things. This doesn't teach new players anything more than I can play careless and just complain to an admin when my things get taken. I think we should remove the admin loot protection, and allow stealing. Raiding and Killing obviously shouldn't be allowed, but if you log off outside, or don't secure your stuff then it's a lesson learned. This will take Pure to an even purer level of Rust gameplay, and obviously, I am all for it.
  8. RKF1's Christmas Club RKF1 on US PURE @H15 in the cave!
  9. If you are trying to provide a true intro to Rust experience without the PVP aspect, will theft be allowed? I think it should be. It's a valuable lesson about locking your items and bases, and admins should be there to teach, not bail you out. Also is Pure going to have the standard Rust decay level? That would also be appropriate for a true Pure experience. I like Rust for the PVE challenge of survival against animals, scientists and scarcity of items. All of that disappeared when the server went modded. I am hoping for a full Rust PVE experience with the only difference being you can't kill other players.
  10. While I will mourn the death of the removal salvage hammer and VIP rec, this is a great change!
  11. Rust is a survival game, not a building simulator. Vote Yes.
  12. Big builds have lots of entities and create lag. Lasers and wind turbines don't cause lag on their own, it's all about how many items you have. Like 24 large planters full of plants for example, with lights, and sprinklers, water catchers, that is a ton of entities, just with farming. Then you add a place for friends...who have their own builds.... and it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. If they decide to add upkeep, then you either build smaller or become a farmer of metal and rock. I think it's a great change. Vip, the store, and the perks that go with it are just a way to support the server, I don't see a problem with that. But the random player should come in to a full true Rust experience with the exception of pvp and building damage off. This is of course my opinion.
  13. My opinion is that there are plenty of "vendor malls" already. The admins build them...every wipe. There is also bandit, outpost and other people who have vending machines. Just scale it down. Big builds are the sole reason I voted for upkeep, and it should be at full vanilla levels, not part way.
  14. In my opinion the PureEZ server has gotten too easy. Decay would force people to build smaller more thoughtful builds, or farm significantly more for their Amazon fulfillment buildings. I think along with decay, the Pure servers should go completely back to vanilla Rust except turn off PVP and disable building damage. I think it should be the full Rust experience. If you leave your stuff unlocked, and someone steals it...Welcome to Rust. Currently you see people who build and horde so fast by the end of the first week, all they ever do is take/camp Brad, and kill Karen in 30 seconds or less. I think Brad and Karen should be a significant threat, not a forgone conclusion. The quarries should go back to being run by diesel fuel, slowing the rate of progress. Just this wipe for example, I used the quarries to get all three benches fully unlocked, and never ran a single monument for scrap and maybe hit 20 or so barrels total. The server is too easy and that's why the player count dwindles. I enjoy my time on Pure, but there is no challenge.
  15. I personally don't mind the once a month wipe on US PURE. If we want more people on the server throughout the month, I suggest a 5 day inactive wipe. This would remove all the entities from people who just pop in to check it out and leave, reducing lag, and giving people who log in later in the wipe a chance to experience the server under better conditions. With all the options to log into Rust via free streaming such as GeForce Now, 5 days shouldn't be hard for most people, no matter where they are. Other lag reducing changes could be to remove hemp and corn trades for scrap at bandit. That would almost certainly reduce mass farming which is a huge lag issue. If we want people to play longer, we could also eliminate the quarries and pumpjacks, so people actually have to play the game "the way it was meant to be played" to build the huge bases. All of these things would improve server performance and better performance will keep people in the server longer.
  16. These additions look great. I saw this one the other day, and it looks fantastic. https://lone.design/product/last-train/
