Hello, I had the exact same thing happen to me. I asked in Chat and Alexanightfire asked me to add my story to this.
I was on [US] RustEZ Scourge PvE | Zombie Alexa said the logs state I was killed by a wolf around 11pm.
I used /home to teleport to my home and I logged out to join the non-zombie RustEZ server and create my first base. I assume log in times can be audited and compared to the time of death on the Zombie server. Hopefully, anyway.
I lost about 790 diesel fuel and an M249. The rest is arbitrary.
I was second guessing myself but then my son stated that I teleported home and logged right out to join the other server, so it was witnessed.... for what it's worth.
It appears my death marker is my base per the below screen shot.
I was at the Giant Excavator before teleporting back.
