    YAM 2

Thanks! I did not know this was requested before. Let's see what happens.
  2. I would like to request this mod be looked at for inclusion on survival or wherever. I'd like to think we have a mature enough group of people who wouldn't abuse something like this. I've used this on another server and was a lot better than the program where you have to paint everything. http://oxidemod.org/plugins/sign-artist.992/ -Z
  3. Sorry I was picturing this, not locking the drops...
  4. I think 3 months was too long and a month will be fine. Enough time to do stuff, but not so much time you get bored. I might have to scale back our projects to something less than a 40x45 square footprint (well diamond footprint). I'll be at the beach also showing off my assets! And by assets I mean my rock and torch. -Z
  5. It's all good. We know for next time!
  6. There was talk about something to add fuel back to lights that were empty. I think you said when there's a soft reboot or something the fuel may drop 1 - so if you took out all the fuel but 1 it would go to zero. Not knowing that - we emptied a lot of lights to 1 and now we have groves of lights burned out. Even if it was 3 fuel or something so it couldn't be exploited would be a help. As a lesson's learned we will not be taking fuel out of the lights in the future!! -Z
  7. I agree, those what want to us it will dump a couple thousand wood in the thing (which on survival is easy to get) and be good for a pretty long time. If you assumed half the time you burned it - 12 hours at 6 wood every min just under 5,000 wood per real life day (check my math might be messed up!).
  8. Agree - would love that feature.

I had a chance to look around this last night with you -very nice. Now if they would fix roofs so they mesh correct on the outside! Us damn roleplayers and PVE people who care more about looks...
  10. Nothing wrong with time away. Rust up sort stuff out and we hope to see you soon! -Z
  11. Thanks for trying to recover the items, I will be honest I'm a little saddened with all the work put in the prior week working out details of what exactly to bring, organization inventories and farming. That being said our base is going fine even with the limited about stuff we were able to bring so I think it's all going to work out in the end, I didn't realize that personally until later in the evening. -Z
  12. I was able to build a whole middle section on the current survival server and came out a fair bit for the exterior wall around it. If the new map has a large shallow water spot it will work, but won't know how big the shallow will be (if there is one at all of any size) or where it will be. It could be near nothing - which people like to be near loot and stuff. We're stocking up for the move and will be ready Thursday night to hit the ground running. My first goal will be just twigging the foundations turn over the large square over to others and work on the hexagon piece with Werevealed. People can build whatever they want in the large square section, maybe some metal foundations for walkways and people can go nuts. I think it's large enough so TCs won't be an issue if people space out well.
  13. Yes or when the hot spot is buried inside the node when it shouldn't be. Saw the whole quarries running out of resourcs except stone. Wasn't sure the run time - found a new location last night to get some more HQM ore.
  14. Imagine trying to farm all that for PVP - lol!
  15. Foundations can be metal - I think we have 300k metal fragments right now, one full large box. I doubt we'll be taking it all with us - lol.
  16. If you do the hexagon in the middle there are 8 squares between the "towers". Each tower is 6 triangles with another set of triangels and sqaures around it. Currently there are 8 squares between each tower, make that 6 and see what you get. All stone for walls and foundations - the inside of each of the 6 large triangles (of the main hexagon) is actually empty. And the rooms are just empty until I figure out the bracing for going up. One pie of the hexagon will be 1 story, the next two will be 2, the next 3 and the last piece across from the 1 story will be 4 with some other features. The one story will be solid walls - helicopter safe. All the other sections will be walls on the 1st floor, windows all other floors. Also the 2, 3 and 4 story section will have not hae a 2nd floor - the first floor will be 2 stories tall so it doesn't feel as cramped. I have throught about this way too much...
  17. The center was a common area for others to build in - like a castle wall around a city. In between the hexagons was just a buffer area so you don't get people building right on top of you. I think we have the resources, but using fotify would verify that to some degree. I'm going to scale down a little on the hexagons, toss it in fortify just to see where we're sitting. Not sure how long that will take - if it's like building in Rust, it should be fast.
  18. I've seen it, but can't use it from work because everything is locked down. What I put up there was just 2D CAD that we do use at work. Maybe I'll get it and mess around with it at home! Thanks.
  19. Yes, yes it is. If I was from Texas, I'd say "everything is bigger in Texas". However, I'm from the midwest so we don't say things like that! It would be easy enough to scale it back a little and remove the large box and just let people build around it however. I'll scale the outside hexagon a little - that will shrink it a good chunk and remove the large box! Also we'll probably build it in a shallow area up against the deep section as opposed to just plopping it down in the middle. Thanks for the feedback!
  20. I'm still doing some layout work on our new base, but it was suggested that people might be interested in setting up a town around the base. I did some preliminary layout in the shallow part of the map SW of the dome just to see how everything scaled in the shallow place. I think with our base we could add a 60x60 section onto it for people to build in. I don't know if 60x60 is big enough given some of the massive builds people have, but those could be built around the outside as well. Sorry - this looks a ton better in the CAD program I use. Yellow is the base layout, the double hexegon thing is the base we were looking at building. The large square is the common area with some 1 high walls and towers around it for protection. The grey cricles are TCs, so you can get a feel for how many bases you can fit inside the area with room for walk ways in such. Also the large square could be bigger or smaller depending what area we have to work with. Thoughts? Next full wipe we're going to build something much smaller! Also all this assumes there a large enough flat spot and people want to build like this - most likely in the shallow water.
  21. One thing I was watching used a box or stone box (the thing that looks like a metal container with stones in it, not a barricade_ for getting into your base. People can't use the steps for cover that way if you need to shoot out the door at them. I not good at base building - but this looks pretty good!

    Out of town!

I should have said something sooner. I'm in training all week and then my parents are visiting for the weekend. My playing time will be between zero to almost zero until mid next week. Have fun and be safe out there! -Z
