  1. The quarry define is obsolete but would be very useful if it wasn't right now!
A define for zombie, specifically where they are, would answer the question asked many times a day.
An accessible list of what defines are available and useful would be quite nifty, a command perhaps?

Also noticed some obsolete /commands in Scourge, referencing the shelved friend system.

On the /info screen, it seems information is going to be fixed into 12 categories for gui reasons. This needs updating of the quarry section with something about the virtual container system now protecting them and trophy crates, probably titled with this. The skin shop is a footnote under black market, but it comes up fairly often that new people didn't notice it or how to apply it, might be worth a whole category if you could merge Teleporting and Homes. You could discuss under Advanced Zombies where they will generally be, or it may be intentional to keep that mysterious, prompting usually the ask and necessitating a define.
New people also occasionally fail to notice that upkeep is required on Scourge. Perhaps a freed up slot should discuss issues like what player inventories are lootable under what situations, though it can be useful to identify new liars if they don't know how it works. The inactive purge thing should definitely be given more spotlight, it's currently only on the website FAQ and solo people that intend to return can easily be required by life to be away for a week, 10 days, 14 (from the faq) whichever it actually is now. Should at least be in the server description and /info because it's a huge server confidence negative to run afoul of.
The rule about building on roads is obsolete, might be updated to specify that rivers are not to be blocked? The detail about large areas of unused land might be clarified that you are not to TC cover then not use land, but you can build on land that is currently large and unused, the wording is ambiguous. Likewise about around monuments, you can build in a place that is around a monument, you mean no encircling right? I see that wording has been chosen to fit into bullet points, perhaps worth revisiting though? While we're on it, is it supposed to apply to swamps? I've seen one encircled in the past and didn't fuss about it but it made me wonder what the scope of this rule is.

You're adding a lot of new content, custom monuments, building towards fully custom maps, I presume you'll hold off most of this sort of thing until that settles into place, but here's my observations about what there needs doing most.

Cheers, and well done recovering as much as you did after the incident.

  2. People regularly ask if they can hide the killfeed, the best advice we can give is turn off everything with /hud but they don't usually want everything gone just the loud killfeed, could that be individually toggled with a command like /feed, and obviously still toggled with just /hud too?

Fragwarts - School of Rustcraft and RustEZ

    Z8, Z9, AA8, AA9.

It's a school themed on Hogwarts, approximately accurate to the exterior layout. It contain lessons on how to excel at PVE Rust and how to do stuff that isn't made apparent to new players. There's a puzzle that unlocks the best kept eldritch top tips. Enter the Great Hall and try on the Sorting Boonie to find out whether you're in Griefindor, Huffinsulf, Radbearclaw or Salvarin!

Main entrance is at the end of the Viaduct in Z8, to the left of frame in the wide screenshot.

  4. Loving the new triangle roof, finally got something spikey enough for epic architecture like this!
Looks great at night thanks to 32 cauldrons and usable spotlights. It's my main and my shop.

  5. Here's my night light system, I run it on US Scourge and others can tap into it with their own RF receiver, I have a camera pointed at instructions for how to set it up, called NIGHTLIGHT. The radio frequency I use for this is 5014 (sola).

The Left side is the sensing unit, one Solar Panel points towards sunrise and the other towards sunset, the Batteries with Root Combiner are optional, it works without them. Like the OP did, they allow you to feed a bit of the surplus power into your grid if you have them lying around and want that extra 20 power generation. As the light comes up slowly, but its still generally too dark for lights off when the first power is received, this circuit requires a threshold amount of power before toggling the light channel, set in the first Branch. You can skip the radio bits and just feed the second Branch's branch out into your Blocker, but using radio allows you to use it across multiple bases, and others can too, by just building the Right side receiver circuit.

  6. As long as it can't be used to cheaply circumvent monument puzzles, so probably not again available after the first spawn (not just a spawn without any bed, that can be re-used), it sounds fun. If it were to be available after then, if it could come at the cost of a heli then that might be sufficient deterrent. One could build a diving board next to launch, or jump out the back of your friends scrap heli a little out of range, and easily farm them if it was available on demand by simply being alive and falling. If you accidentally jump out of your heli, or run out of fuel, is the heli definitely toast or will it fall safely and survive? I don't use them, don't know.

Obviously you can just fly to dome or sewer with your minicopter already, but launch is safe(ish) because of the sams, perhaps ensuring the sams target parachuting players would be sufficient balancing, with a delay on reuse so it's at least not easier than coptering, or a hefty points cost? I vote maybe..

  7. Would it be possible to pre-load the For field in VM administration with Scrap so 99% of the time we don't have to click, type enough of it, and select it? Would able to move on to just entering the scrap price, or in rare cases change it to a different trade. Maybe a clicky button to set it to For Scrap would do if it can't work like that.

  8. I tried to run a Hotel this wipe but found that unless I give the player TC and they replace the bed, it won't work for them as a /home tp node. Do mods have a way to detect the player claiming a bed that has been set to public, and could we have that interface the /home list? If that was able to work, hotels could be hands-free and they could be set up around popular monuments like outpost, bandit, and LS, instead of being ringed by TC zones with 1x1 & bags on them. Would need to be able to discern it from another player assigning it to you, or someone could spuriously fill up your /home list. Hope it's possible!

  9. The Existing/All/Loot All overlay in object inventories it great. Would it be possible for it to present differently on crop plot fertiliser inventories, and instead have the option to clone all the plants in the plot that are of cloneable age, and put them in my inventory? Would save me some RSI, basically a very nice QOL thing not having to use the rotary menu 9 times per plot. While you're at it, would be efficient if clones put in the fertiliser inventory would be instantly planted when the inventory gets closed and there are spaces available for them, but it isn't nearly as much of a chore to plant and makes good RP anyway. Wouldn't say the same about operating a rotary menu hundreds of times.
I'd be suprized if there's isn't already a standalone mod that does something like this, but it might be preferable to modify something already stable.

  10. That may be your idea of something good to do with a PVP style base going to waste on a PVE server, but it isn't what everyone wants to build, they come here to not need to think about PVP defense, numbers on these servers would decline if it was about to devolve to being like the other servers they choose not to play on, and you'd still be bored leading up to it.

Something like this might be a good compromise if it could occur only in one small geographical area, so one could move there and get ready if they wanted to. Would likely want to come with a corresponding increase in map size to make up for the lost ground.

  11. With the facepunch horse rebalance, it's fairly difficult to acquire fertiliser. Foods are compostable, but it seems to me that Zombies should be too. If they could give a little Spoiled Chicken when harvested, in addition to the cloth and bones they do now, it would both make a lot of sense and give people a reason to clean up their corpses and clear the entities faster.

  12. Sign Artist is pretty great but the text generation function isn't working very well, and the /info page about it is incorrect.
/info advises that you should enter /sil 'hello world' to write hello world on a sign, but that produces no result, the text generator is actually called with the command /silt instead.

I've done some diagnostics using a small wooden sign. Entering /silt 'hello world' results in the sign displaying 'hello and /silt hello world produces hello whereas /silt hello produces nothing. /silt "hello world" also produces nothing. Conclusion: its parsing is well borked. Multiple words results in only the first word working unless it begins with ", while /info suggested it was ' style quotations that it would be paying attention to.

I understand SA is a plugin developed by Whispers88 and as such the issue might not be within your power to fix, but it might also be your command parsing before the signText call, or maybe it just needs updating, there was one published 3 months ago.

  13. Paywall an entire server? Some might, but I would not pay to play on a server that would have such a deterrent on population. Imo, PVE only works for more than a week when you've got enough interesting humans messing about in it, neato worldgen couldn't replace it. I wouldn't want the whales to leave the public server and play by themselves either. There could definitely be a place for custom maps as I've heard they've been used in the past and should again, but premium content outside of the public servers sounds to me like a thing that would backfire here.

  14. There is a non-craftable object in the game called Simple Light which admins can spawn in, it works just like a normal ceiling light but attaches to a wall and has an inclined beam, I think I might have seen some used at the base in F21, perhaps they could be added to the black market if there was a reshuffle coming to that.

  15. The whole wipe season sees newspawns though, can't go throwing them into the plate zombie deep end or they won't join the server, the starter biome would have to stay chill. Player shops established by then mean that they can easily get equipped to move up into the escalating tier snow/desert zones. I doubt there's a functionality available to make this happen, but it would be awesome.

  16. Unpopular idea time, what if the respawn period wasn't exactly one hour every time? Would that even be possible? I'm pretty sure it's FP dictated based on one variable, but Death's pretty clever. Might for example still average out to every hour but vary between 30 and 90 minutes, then there's little point asking when it happened, and campers have to commit to their camping. It could lead to some more people getting ganked if they run through its spawn points and it appears at a time they couldn't have known, but the cost of that isn't much on Scourge anyway. Multiple campers would have it allocated between them by where it spawns, if it comes past someone first then they get the first shot and it's won.

  17. I recently found out how the Sell All button works, seems to selling all of that the material in your inventory at the same rate, not just as many bundles as you have, and I think it makes the whole finite bundles thing irrelevant except for stating the conversion rate. As such if someone wants to sell 500 stones, they can hold 500 stones and click Sell All right now, and everyone only clicks it once per desired transaction. The conversion rate could be more eloquently displayed if they were all scaled to the same amount of currency, if it's not an objective to keep it obtuse. You might consider a confirmation pop-up before performing the Sell All transaction, since some might complain they wanted to sell only some of what they were holding like the other button did.

  18. APERTUBER LABORATORIES on the mountain at F2
She's at it again making them rue the day they made GLaDOS into a Potato.

Labs are done but closed to the public until tours start, ask me nice (ign Pikefish) and I might take you through. Going to build an attached Potato Restaurant nearby which should be worth checking out.
