So, what can I catch?
There are now 3 tiers of fish you can catch.
Tier 1:
- Anchovy
- Herring
- Sardine
You can catch these 3 little guys in any sort of water
Tier 2:
- Yellow perch (Rivers & swamps)
- Small trout (Ocean & underwater labs in the moon pools)
Tier 3:
- Catfish (Rivers & swamps)
- Orange Roughy (underwater labs)
- Small shark (Ocean over 4.5m in depth & underwater labs)
- Salmon (any body of water over 4.5m in depth)
What makes them tier 3? When you gut them you get loot! Other then the usual fishy innards, you have a chance to find:
- Scrap
- Blue Keycard
- Cloth
- Pistol Bullets
- Flare
The wooden spoon:
Sometimes when using a bait value of 0.5-2.5 you'll get the wooden spoon of catching junk. Junk doesn't fight once its hooked, so if its a straight reel in you can expect to see one of these:
- Diving Fins
- Tarp
- Small Water Bottle
- Water Jug
- Human Skull
- Water Bucket

Whyyyyyy is this not working for me??
The new fishing has more to it than our modded servers previous used, so there's a couple of common mistakes I've found so far while learning.
I cant cast:
- Check you have bait in the rod still
- Check you are close enough to the water
- If you're already in the water, you may need to back up a little
My line is disappearing, but I don't hear it snap:
- If you turn away from your line, it will disappear! Keep it in front of you as best you can. Alt look works just fine if you do need to turn
- If your line crosses too close to pretty much anything that isn't water it will disappear - this could be foundations, barrels in the moon pools, your box of bait, etc. Stand as close as possible to the water
- If you want to fish from a chair, I've found this set up works well provided you place the chair basically in the water

So, you want to become a fishing legend but you aren't sure how to start?
This guide will go through fishing in detail, from the basics to more ... in-depth!
The Basics:
First, you're going to need a fishing rod and some bait. Ill go into more detail about bait later on - for now while you learn, any bait will do! Drag that bait into available slot in fishing rod. Baits of the same kind will stack in there:
Be sure to be standing as close to the water as you can (or even in it!)
Holding right click will draw back your cast, you can now see the outline where you will cast to. Pretty simple, red wont cast & blue will. Left click to cast
Once you get a bite, its time to reel that catch in!
- S or LMB - reels in
- A - pull left
- D - pull right
If your fish is swimming right, pull the fish left using A, and if its swimming left, pull right with D like the below pic. You want to reel in when you can, but take care - your line can snap! If the rod starts to shake / creak - let go & give your catch a second to tire itself out.
And that's it! Congratulations, you've caught your first fish!

I have reviewed the circumstances surrounding this, and found that the bag in question was not previously renamed anything even close to what you are suggesting (nor was it even your bag).
With the current cancel culture in the world, racism in all aspects of society is being closely scrutinized. While we do understand that it still heavily permeates music, comedy, movies, and other media, it is something we do not feel is appropriate to have in our servers.
Words such as what were used on your account, are not welcome in any context. This is clearly displayed when you enter any of our servers. Use of such a word in any circumstance is never funny, and will never be funny. It is not a joke.

Come & join us for AU Scourge's Spikeour event! (get it? parkour + spikes!!)
Starting 4pm AEST Sunday (edit: in 2 hours!), we have a complete course set up to test out your spacebar jump skills and your patience
The course consists of 4 stages:
- A terrible maze filled with jumps and special spikes
- The parkour course pictured below with.. yet again spikes
- Another set of terrible jumps involving boxes, ladders, doors and walls
- And the final section is a genius laser setup done by the one and only @FertileFishy

More Info: 03/07/2021 Player was told in game if they did not do damage to heli they are not entitled to the loot. Still attempted to take access but didnt get anything, then left the area. Then again on 05/07/2021 was spoken to in game as well as warned for stealing heli loot they didnt participate in. Later that same day on 05/07 player was found again taking loot from helis they did not participate in. Ban issued given repeated incidences.

More Info (Optional):Player was seen harassing other players, was given verbal warning to stop. Had to be removed from the other players base. Once advised of the rules a second time removed from the area, they returned to the same player to continue to harass them. Attempted to steal their car, and gain access to their base through exploits. Console warning provided, and same behaviour continued. Given not showing any indication of attempting to play, ban issued to avoid further disruption to the community

More Info: Player was seen stealing vehicle from someones base & was sent an initial warning. Later was witnessed stealing car parts again & sent another warning. Within 10 minutes they once again accessed a car & stole parts, and attempted to despawn items from vehicle storage, then destroyed the car.

More Info: Player stole another players car, warning was sent. Player then continued to take vehicle & drive it repeatedly into another player so was kicked, and the car was returned to owner. When player returned, they then went back to original base they stole the car from & continually harassed the owner & accessed car lift to grief the owner

More Info: Another player noted in chat “u cant look private drops” - “get out” - “u cant steal anything” - and finally called for an admin, when admin teleported to player found all three players inside his base. Gave verbal warning to exit base at this stage they did
Were then caught stealing a car & were kicked. When returned spoke with players in voice to let them know to leave other players bases alone, and advised again to read the rules.
Then were found as a team tagging heli & running into another players base. Video available upon request

The message you saw was me requesting to speak with you to confirm ownership of the signs - and in fact, didn't even mention the signs. Once I spoke with Buster, it was confirmed all the signs were in fact placed & painted by both of you.
There is a zero tolerance policy for racism on RustEZ servers. This is clearly displayed when you enter any of our servers.
You mentioned in your direct message to me that you placed these signs as a joke - Use of the words & imagery you posted on these signs are in any circumstance absolutely unacceptable, and frankly deplorable. It is not funny, racism not a joke.
This ban will not be lifted. Best of luck with your future gaming endeavors.

What the heck is bait value, anyway?
Short answer: To catch higher tier fish, you need higher tier bait!
For the sake of keeping things simple, I'm only including items from the new update in this. You can use other foods, look for the bait value in the item information:
