Over the years we've been slowly phasing these out as most of the in-game mechanics have been stripped out of the game, they take too much space and are just a hassle to set up by players. We've discussed previously about simply creating new models but that wouldn't solve one of the major flaws, which is placement.

After much consideration, we've decided we're going to phase them both out completely and instead utilize the public instanced quarries and pumpjacks instead. These can be leveled up to improve production exactly as you can now, just they will live at monuments instead of your base.

We understand the advantage of having them the way they are is to avoid travel time and unnecessary friction transferring these items from each quarry and pumpjack back to your base and we thought about this. With this change, you will now be able to purchase a Hopper Station from the black market which will enable automatic transfer to and from to restock with fuel and grab production to be processed back at your base.

This will allow you to place adapters to properly automate processing material and keeping them fed with fuel to ensure players are able to re-create the previous quality of life from the current system. We're unsure how often transfers will happen, or if we'll allow the station to be upgradable just yet but we'll keep you updated as development continues.

Servers that previously did not have quarries like Scourge and Elysium will not be able to upgrade quarries initially, but we do plan to enable this as we figure out how quarries will be obtained. It's likely quarries will join pumpjacks on the store and be a purchasable upgrade. On Survival, these will remain free as they are now but in the interest of improving server funding we may consider moving these to store exclusives eventually.

TL;DR

  1. Quarries and Pumpjacks removed as player deployables.
  2. You'll be able to upgrade public quarries and pumpjacks instead.
  3. New deployable added to black market that will auto deliver resources to and from quarries and pumpjacks to allow automation.
  4. Non Survival servers will not have upgradable quarries initially. Will likely be a store item as we do for pumpjacks.
  5. Survival servers will be able to obtain quarries the same way they do now, but may change later on to help server funding.

Feedback

Nothing is finalized yet so we'd love to hear your feedback and ideas as we continue development.

Will they still use LGF or will we need diesel? I never actually used the ones not player placed. Also do we level up one and be good or are we leveling each individual one?

the public quarries/pj on modded all use LGF, there's no mention of changing the fuel needed.

So there is now a limit imposed to the number of quarry's one can have.
IDK half the "fun" of quarry's was getting them placed and then piped (for me at least). Was there some friction in getting them placed, yes. was it a sense of satisfaction when you had got it sorted, also yes.

Would this now mean more little bases near every quarry/pj for the "New deployable" to be placed in?

The pumpjacks are  store bought items from the website only . The quarrys are only currently available on the survival servers /shop speciality tab. All the info we have so far is on the first  post from Death.

One more question. One can assume the days of having multiple pj’s and quarries are gone? Now everyone uses the same public location just different levels if you choose to upgrade…..

I agree clicking a billion times trying to get the pipe to connect was actually rewarding 🤣🤣🤣  I don’t think you’ll see that many more bases if people use their beacon or a bag to tp to and from.
