RUSTMAS WIPE is here! That's right; the one wipe of the whole year where those annoying stocking you unwrap in large presents will not be completely useless. Remember to hang them on the wall and not a fireplace so Red Scientist can fill them when the Rustmas event rolls out later this wipe. Speaking of Red Scientist and gifts, we have a few changes rolling out this wipe... Smaller Map Size You may have noticed that map size is slightly decreased this wipe. We've decided to run 4k maps this month instead of the usual 4.5k. This is a 12.5% decrease in map size that we hope to greatly improve client and server performance. To offset this, the chosen maps have the maximum buildable area possible for its size. What does this mean for players? As always, be kind and courteous to others and don't build what you don't plan to use, especially on our high pop servers. Tool Cupboard Radius Buff The default radius of the tool cupboard is now doubled, providing an instant "friendly neighbor buffer" to help players spread out. This change eliminates the need for players to place additional TC shacks around bases as a buffer. Changes to Inactive Purge Inactive purge is an important part of our backend process to clean up clutter mid-wipe. We know that that losing everything you've earned if you are unable to log in once every 7 days is frustrating, so we've completely overhauled the system. Starting later this wipe, inactive purge will take place in stages. For example, your electricity and circuits will be disabled and we will repo your vehicles and so on until he purge system completes the cycle, after 10 days of inactivity. 4 Days: Pumpjack, quarries and furnaces are deactivated 5 Days: Electricity and all circuits disabled + water pumps and plumbing 6 Days: All entities outside of your cupboard range is removed (excluding those inside an authorized cupboard range) 7 Days: All vehicles are removed, regardless if on lift or not 10 Days: All entities are removed besides the ones inside the radius of an active TC As always, we'll monitor these changes to see how they impact players experience and gameplay and adjust as needed! "Define wipe" ran on all the servers for years – it was removed earlier this year because people were using it to spam chat. Wipe is not the same date & time for all the regions we have servers, so the define was a bit lengthier than most and perfect for trolls to spam global chat (we can't have nice things). Will see if @Death can do a replacement of sorts for this though. Thanks for the feedback!

Based on the ban report, this level of griefing another player, destroying parts of their base and then taunting and belittling them after the fact is absolutely not welcome on our servers. The ban has been updated and is permanent. Your shitty response to the ban is not an accepted appeal.

Nominee's IGN: sharla.windrider Your IGN: Anonymous Player Server & Region: US Scourge Sharla.windrider is awesome! If anyone needs help on the server setting up electricity, they always offer to go to the player and help them out. I kept "avoiding" electricity for a long time. When I finally decided to give it a try to get lights going in my base, Sharla came to help me even though I was doing very basic things that most people know and I felt silly needing help with it. Even on Discord Sharla replies to questions about electricity, provides diagrams and explanations. So many people have Sharla to thank for making this often annoying part of Rust fun to do. Sharla also talks to new players, helps them out, and Arcadia is a regular build and a great place to hang out on the server. All around great player to have on the server!

Nominee's IGN: Chiefnugnug Your IGN: Anonymous Player Server & Region: Scourge AU My first ever time on the Scourge servers I was greeted with the Walking Rust Wikipedia - Chief. He taught me everything we (my team) needed to know about the server being new, and geared us ready to fight the zombies. He taught not only me, but every new player he comes across about the ins and outs of the server, who is who and what does what; making sure we all know rules, how to play, and what to do. He'll help anybody, new or old to the server, spending countless hours teaching people about PvE, about RustEZ and Rust in general, kidnapping newbies and showing them the sights and the best ways to survive, all while having RustEZ at the forefront and showing people what makes us great. Even after 2000+ hours if I have ANY question about Rust, I go to Chief.
