  3. This is a quirky little suggestion; What if we increased the radiation levels at Launch Site (except for in the Red Card Puzzle) to be higher (on modded servers, like Scourge)? Without a Hazmat Suit, the effects would be deadly with long exposure; With a Hazmat suit, you still have a max of [5]* Radiation? This should be enough to force players to keep from sitting inside Launch Site, as they'll constantly be using Meds, Food/Water, etc. The number should be low enough for a Hazmat Suit to run through and loot the monument and lootable areas, without having too quick of a health drain. Hazmats Suits also mean players cannot wear armor sets into the Launch Site, meaning events like Bradley may be slightly more difficult. In theory, I hope this idea would force players to make better decisions on whether or not entering Launch Site is worth it to them, and make it less likely people are going to be standing around the area waiting. Finally, I gotta ask the big man in charge, @Death, would it even be possible to raise radiation levels for that specific of an area? We know as you get deeper toward the Red Puzzle, the radiation levels go up. So there's a zone there, separate from the rest of Launch Site. Could we potentially raise the radiation at the zone surrounding the larger portion of Launch Site, without effecting the smaller zone? Thanks to everyone who read.   6. The output for solar panels and windmills were doubled this wipe. Per Death via RustEZ Discord - @Syk3z, so yes, your issue is a bug. I've heard a few people across different servers mention it.   7. This falls under the "No Camping Monuments, Events, or Loot Rooms" rule that all servers have on their information page. This rule is further explained on this page from our FAQ.

  9. I'm probably going to get called crazy for this, but I do believe this was a feature on our server, at one point in time, years ago. This was something I specifically remember being surprised about not having, when I returned to RustEZ this past fall.
  10. /home shouldn't be a be-all, end-all system to replace vanilla aspects of the game. By having /home, all we've done is show people overtime that earning a little bit of credits can be an easy way for them to get around the map, without doing any work to get where they're going. Players shouldn't use /home just because they don't want to learn how to fly, or actually go find a vehicle. Cars are not rare; people just aren't actually taking the time to go around the map looking. Which is odd, since they can teleport anywhere they want, just to start looking. Ok, but remember that exchanging scrap for credits is one-way; you cannot exchange credits for scrap. I don't care if you don't have 4+ hours a day to play, if you run monuments and scrap piles constantly for a few hours, recycling everything you find, you can and will get yourself over 10k scrap when you're done in that time frame. Scrap can also be cheekily won at Bandit Camp; with an understanding of how to play the game, you can triple your investment in 30 minutes. Killing NPCs gives you credits, you can make 500+ just for doing Small Oil Rig. And lastly, you get free credits, every hour, just for playing! If somebody wanted to, they could just +right idle inside their house overnight, and come back with a free 1000 credits in the morning. This is an issue I'm aware of, but forgot to mention while typing up the suggestion. I do not like the fact that you can get around the /home system like this. But considering the idea is linked to just putting your current inventory in your backpack, or storing another inventory at the location you're teleporting to, there's not much of a way to fix this issue. In this scenario, I'd be much more willing to remove the /home system entirely than I would be having our backpacks be cleared on death, or worse, removed entirely. And yet, just because you can get around the /home system by F1ing, doesn't mean the /home system should just be left unaffected.

You can place up to 10 sleeping bags or beds anywhere you want on the map, and access them through the /home command, then teleport to any one of those bags, at any time, for a minuscule credit fee. This is one system that I believe either needs to be reworked, revamped, or removed entirely. Personally, I'm all for reworks, as they tend to be less drastic. For starters, I want to lower the number of bags on the /home menu to only 5. This will force players to place bags more strategically for their needs, instead of spreading them all over a map. There are many monuments and reasons a person may have to teleport, and 10 bags almost certainly covers those reasons. It is also a primary form of transport for people who are up to no good, as simply teleporting to a bag is a lot faster than walking or flying to a point, and if this kind of player gets there first, they can repeatedly deny other players certain opportunities, such as Garrisons or Bradleys. Next, let's increase the amount of credits it costs to teleport to a bag. I can't remember if your first teleport is Free or 100 credits, but it needs to be more than that. And teleporting caps at 200 credits, which is exceptionally low. We all know it is possible to end a wipe with 100,000 more credits than you started a wipe with. If teleporting is making it easier for players to earn those credits faster, there needs to be a larger penalty for teleporting. I think your first teleport being Free is fair, but after that, we should start going up in increments of 250 credits, and then max out at 2000 credits. This change should encourage players low on credits to use alternative methods of getting around; methods that the vanilla experience of Rust already offers. While these new numbers may still seem low to some, I hope it does encourage alternative play-styles for most. And that's all I currently have for this idea.   12. This, I can attest to, as I've actually been told by some people about their camping tactics for Garrisons; usually involving several fake bases along garrison spawn areas for easy teleporting. Voice communications are harder to provide, however...

  15. What you're referring to is our Inactive Purge system. It was implemented this wipe to clean up the bases of inactive players on our servers. The intention being to improve server performance and stability, and destroy entities that were not being used. If you find yourself inactive for a long period of time, it's your own fault. In a way, the system is similar to Base Decay on our decay-enabled servers, except all you had to do is login to not get destroyed. I argue the contrary- I much more enjoy a map with bases that are actually active or being upkept, rather than endless streams of twig buildings across every grid. Not to mention, the spaces that are opened up by inactive purge can be taken by other, potentially more active players coming along, or those who are looking to expand their current bases.

  17. This is a very divisive topic, and I would like a moment to offer an opinion as somebody of little previous interaction with the person in question, Dicko. Also speaking as somebody who hasn't been active in the community for long periods at a time, which might offer some perspective towards people like me, or those who are new to this topic and do not know already. @Dicko A La Mode, when I first joined RustEZ years ago, I'm pretty sure you were already an admin on US Scourge at the time. I remember you being a decent guy, and I'm pretty sure you helped me out several times when I needed it. Over the years, I've been off and on when it comes to RustEZ; always on US Scourge, and without any true form of activity until recently, it was easier for me to remember a lot of the changes in the staff over the server, or notice when one person wasn't an admin anymore even if I didn't remember everyone's names. I came back to my longest stint of activity this past November's wipe. At this time, I'm pretty sure you had previously left the admin team, and you were serving a portion of that wipe as a temporary admin? I'm not sure the circumstances, but whatever was going on, and whatever I saw, you were doing your job, being mature, and not causing issues. I do not know of anything that happens behind the scenes, so I cannot speak to that. But I noticed a change. And I know you have explained that change as being irritated with not only other players, but the system as a whole. The Dicko that was admin years ago when I joined, the Dicko that was temp admin this past November, is not the same Dicko that I saw this past December and onward. Be it irritated as you may have been, you came off as a cranky ex-admin with a chip on his shoulder, out just to only make a point. In the end, all I'm seeing is that you tried to show the flaws and problems in the system, by making yourself a problem for the system. I feel as though you made yourself a martyr, and maybe inadvertently so. (But to your credit, I think you did a good job. That topic is now on the table.) - So, let me put this on the table. Dicko, there are several people, inside and out of Staff positions in EZ, that either don't like you, or don't like something in particular that you've done. I'm going to say that I feel largely indifferent towards you, personally. I should also mention that these people's opinions doesn't solely lie on you... These people have all complained about a certain group of individuals, that which you engage with. I'll let you figure out their names. I don't know what it is, any of these people have done, and that's not my place to ask what or why. My point is, it's (apparently) not just you, Dicko. In your defense, and remember that I'm largely on the outside of these issues, I don't think you're a bad guy. However, I agree with you. The ban was just. ======= Having heard the testimony of a lot of people in here; Admins, Ex-Admins, Never Admins, and more from people not in this thread, I have garnered some of my own opinions about the way the EZ system, chain of command, etc. operates. And if I'm lead to believe my voice will be heard, because I can go to the Suggestions subforum and make a thread, then I will be typing something up soon. Whether or not I will be heard?... I suppose we'll just have to see.
  18. Sure, if you do a definitive majority of the damage, it is within your rights to say how much loot you're going to take. However, camping is NOT allowed. So, no, don't let campers take it.
  19. No... Why would I walk into someone else's base for any reason? I'm not interested in looking through other people's stuff, and on some servers, it's against the rules. How are you able to know that someone's boat isn't bought? What evidence do you have that they found their boat lying around? If you're having trouble finding a boat spawned on the beach, don't go around blaming other people for it. They might have nothing to do with it at all. Just get yourself some scrap and go by a boat. Or, if you're patient, just keep trying to find one. It's not other people's problem that you can't get one.
  20. So, let me get this straight... You trespassed inside of other player's homes, just so you could find a boat, and then said they were being disrespectful?
  21. At the moment, I think we're just asking that players who fought the heli get admin assistance if you think someone is taking loot from a heli you think is yours. Admins can check the logs and make a judgment call on that. If you find that you're not seeing the damage% announcement in chat when you do an event like this, can you please fill out a bug report for us?   22. This mechanic is also true of the Oil Refineries. By default, both things start with wood in them when placed. It's exploitable, but we've looked into this, and it's not as bad as you might think. You're bound to break a few salvaged hammers before you're really making enough wood to build anything with it. It's just a game mechanic that both the Hobo Barrels and Refineries start with wood when placed.
  23. Hey @DeadAries, unfortunately the Horses got a major nerf a few updates ago, and no longer produce nearly as much dung as they used to. This is a highly debated topic in the Rust world, but the nerf intended to balance the horse dung and make it seem like a rarer, more valuable item to compost. According to the composting table, it's still a very lucrative item, and 5 Horse Dung can give you 250 compost. It's just harder to get than it used to be. I'm not sure if we have the ability to increase these drop rates on our modded servers, either.
  24. Hi @Antithasys, what RustEZ server do you commonly play on? We have multiple types of servers, Pure, Survival, and Scourge. As a Scourge player, I know that people will build on land and then sell their buildings, and never once have I seen those actions be punished or frowned upon. If you'll let us know what server(s) you're suggesting this for in your post, I think it'll really help clarify your suggestion.
