If you have the answer to stopping players from building ridiculously large twig bases, filled with hundreds of entities, then please let me know. Because that's what causes your lag.
-
You have a whole month to gather the resources to build whatever you need each wipe. Implementing this mod will spoil the gaming experience by making starting out way too easy. May as well just give all players the ability to spawn whatever they wish. Hard no from me.
-
That's because all the plugins used on ther EZ servers are created by Death, and I'm pretty sure he's not putting them out there for public use. He's put a lot of time into them.
-
I'm not laughing. The only stupid question is the one not asked. Glad I could help.

Okay, I think I see a small misunderstanding with the Easter & Haloween events. They are a timed server event, starting precisely every 2 hours. Admins don't start them, but because the start time is easily known, preparations can be made in advance, hence the gathering of players, and running of admin /event. This is similar to how Brad, cargo & patrol heli events used to operate. If you want the start time for Easter & Haloween events to be randomised as well, that would only be in the pervue of Death, if it is at all possible to do. I'd suggest posting a Suggestion thread on the forums, and see how it goes. I have checked with Leadership, and there is nothing wrong with admins turning the Easter or Haloween events into an admin event with the use of /event. The same event is run on the other EZ servers as well, so it's not a unique situation. The only condition is no spawning of kits/items. Players come with what they bring, and leave with what they collect. So, as the event is for the benefit of the community, and the players seem to enjoy it, I see no reason to stop my admins hosting these events. Sorry, but you will just have to accept that the community as a whole enjoys this. There is nothing stopping you from joining us; the event is open to everyone. We would be more than happy to see you join in. The more players in an area, the more eggs will spawn. If you don't like groups, you can simply turn off chat and mute voice chat via the Options menu, participate, and leave again once the event is done. Other than that, as I mentioned before, there is nothing wrong with players gathering of their own volition for the event. I have spoken to the admin involved yesterday, and we discussed their inappropriate comments. I will also bring it up at our monthly AU admin meeting so that all AU admins are across this issue, so hopefully it won't happen again. We're human. We live and learn.

If you are playing on Survival or Scourge servers, you have access to the /sil command that allows you to upload images directly to the sign.

Hi Bric, Sorry that you had a negative experience last night. I was at work at the time, although I did see the events unfold from my phone. Firstly, I will unreservedly apologise for the unnecessary and inappropriate comment made by the admin. Please be sure that I will speak to them personally, and make sure this does not happen again. However, I feel the "too bad, so sad" impression was not present, although every person can have a different interpretations of what transpired. Please understand that everyone is human, and capable of mistakes. We will try to do better. As for the 'randomness' of the event, as Granny said, the hunts are automatic and out of our control (at least at a server admin level), so there's not much I can do about that. There is not much I can do about players congregating at the airfield, or any other location, in time for the event either. As you are well aware, the server has a strong community, and players are free to organise such activities without admin intervention. As for turning the hunts into an admin event, I will look into this. At this time, I will get the input from players, admins, and Leadership as to 1) Is making this an event by popular demand, and 2) Is acceptable to run as an event. Please understand that the server is a community. This is what makes it strong.
-
There is, but as Granny pointed out, it is not an official EZ discord. It is however a place for everything AU Survival related. It is moderated by the AU Survival admin team, and controlled by the AU Survival Head admin, Elixil3. There is also an unofficial AU Pure discord, exactly same thing.
-
You should ask Elixil3. He has an Event Notification bot setup for AU Survival discord that will tell you when events will begin in local time. Very handy. We use it for events, wipe, twitch drops, admin meetings, and anything else that starts at a specific time.

Can't you just craft a heap using lots of mixing benches? Using mixing benches, you can set the craft and walk away, and come back when it's done. If you play on Survival, you can also use JPipes to automate the process, and it will be totally hands free. It's also slightly cheaper using mixing benches at 20 charcoal & 20 sulphur produces 10 GP.

Offender: blahblah BattleMetrics Steam Server: AU Pure Time: 20 March 2022 @ 6:39pm AEST (8:39am UITC) Length: 3 days Reason: Abusive in public chat, refusing to follow admin instructions. More Info (Optional):

That's a fishing village. The buildings haven't rendered in yet, just the trophy shark that hangs up on display.

80% of players build in the green starter area of the map, along the roads, usually near low level monuments & Bandit camp. Bases line both sides of the road, creating what we (un)affectionately call "Lag Alley". It's ironic because the players that (usually) complain most about lag are the ones that live in Lag Alley. Stay away from rivers in the green areas as well. Multi-level farms with 100+ large plots, 1000s of sprinklers, pumps and wind turbines line those rivers. If you want to cut down on lag, head to the opposite side of the map, the desert or snow biomes, where high level monuments like Launch are located. Much quieter there.

So, keeping this neutral is going to be difficult considering the character assassination you have done to me. Let's start with the facts: "Anyhow back to AU Pure ..Smash a few can .ran into a polar bear .made my way down the road got car parts .find a car repair it then .Hell pop up .Admin do have a rough time as a GL on another game it hard at time u run into all sorts .But a Admin rip into me so i log off thinking ok thats it an i log onto AU Survival an next he follow me there to carry on ripping into me say i am on THIN ICE thats it" While on AU Pure, you accused me of spawning 5 horses at your base as some sort of greifing. I have been on night shift ALL WEEKEND. 12 hour shifts. Friday night until Saturday morning, eat, sleep, get up, go back to work. Rinse and repeat. All weekend. I was at work when you made this accusation last night. I haven't been on Rust since 18th Feb at 8:35am (AEST) because of work. IF a horse was spawned in when I was last online, it would have well and truly died from starvation within the last 3 days. Actually, it would be dead after the first day. You made this claim of spawned in horses, and then zeroed in on me last night. Specifically me. But that's not the whole truth is it? The truth is that you did not even have a base on AU Pure this wipe. How can I prove this? Well, any admin with access to BattleMetrics can see your time on all of the EZ servers. The last time you were on AU Pure was on the 2nd February, 2 DAYS BEFORE THE WIPE. But that's not all. You even bragged in a DM to another AU Pure admin last night that you did not even have a base on AU Pure. So... I supposedly spawned 5 horses in front of a base that doesn't exist, while I was at work. I don't think even Death is that good. As for the so called "rip into me" I was defending myself. Plus I am fed up with this sort of antic that you have pulled on so many previous occasions. Stupid and factually incorrect things you tell the whole player base like "decay is active for the last 24 hours of wipe". The whole AU Pure admin team cannot figure out where you get this incorrect info from. You pass it on to other players, and then we have to come along and undo the confusion you cause. Also, at the time of this "ripping into you" there were other admins in chat, and online, but you singled me out. Probably because I'm not taking your rubbish anymore. Oh and you would be surprised at the actual number of AU Pure admins (and admins from other servers) that are fed up with your behaviour too. We admins talk to each other. We communicate. Not much is secret. FYI, it's a lot more admins than you think. As for "following" you to AU Survival, I have to once again tell you that I HAVE NOT BEEN ON AU SURVIVAL FOR OVER A MONTH. Last time I joined AU Survival was on 6th January at 6:27pm to be exact. Clearly you are ignorant to the fact that as an admin on AU Survival I can see the chat, and communicate with players via BattleMetrics. I do not have to be online. And once again, I only replied AFTER you started to complain about me in AU Survival chat. Noone asked you to share, you just logged on and started complaining. You started this drama, but you are refusing to accept the consequences. The consequence of this was the THIN ICE warning. As a Head Admin I have slightly more flexibility in the banning of players. The justification has to be there to use this extra flexibility. Your continual starting of drama is justification enough. I was giving you one last chance to shut up and play nice. But instead, you logged out and created this thread. Again, all EZ admins, from all the servers have the ability to look at your BattleMetrics profile and actually see the admin notes and your poor behaviour. This is no secret. And now you have drawn the attention of Leadership. If I was targeting you in any way, you would have been banned long ago. But you haven't. I am pleased with the level of professionalism and restraint the AU Pure admin team have adhered to; This includes tolerating your poor behaviour and leaving you alone. If we wanted to "target" you, we would have had more than enough justification with clamping down on some of the huge (and useless) builds you kept building. But you were left alone. Avoided actually. Attached images are: (1) of your chat from last night, (2) the extratct from last night where you claim 5 horses were spawned in, (3) my AU Pure sessions, (4) my AU Survival sessions, and (5) a copy of the DM you sent to another AU admin stating that you did not have a base on AU Pure. Good luck with Total War 3. Hopefully you will one day realise that the way you feel hurt by what others have said, often goes both ways.

OK. This thread is going nowhere constructive. I am locking this thread. Best of luck on a server that better suits your gameplay.
-
You entered another player's base and mounted thier horse. You were told to get off, and told about the no stealing rule. You then remounted the horse again. You have 8 hours game time. Enough time to know the difference between POI's and player builds. Plus you demonstated enough know how in game to know the difference, so your excuse you did not know does not fly. I hid your first post, as your ban report (and any appeals) will be handled on this thread. No point having duplicate threads confusing things. Pezza did a fine job in this matter. The only person who should be ashamed is you with your poor behaviour. You are certainly not the first brand new player to Rust joining an EZ server, and yet everyone else can follow the rules just fine.
-
You also forgot to mention the horse you tried to steal (twice) after entering another player's base, and was spoken to by another admin about.

Not everyone had their own placed quarry. And if they did, they either had to secure it, or babysit it while in operation. Same if they wanted to use the public quarries & PJs. And only ONE player at a time could use them. Now with instanced quarries and PJs, lots of players can use them simultaneously, and it's just F.A.F. The worst thing is the yields. Even the best placed quarry in a snow biome, yielded low amounts of HQM; You got more of the other ores. This made players consider if it was worthwhile even placing one. With the instanced quarries you get a yield of 1:1, or 1:2. Dump 3k LGF into the HQM quarry, leave it overnight, and come back the next day to thousands of HQM ore. Couple that with the infinite supply of LGF you get from instanced PJs, and you get a ton of HQM ore very quickly. By day 2 of wipe, I have enough HQM to fully upgrade my base & heli tower to armoured. Then when you consider 50+ players all using the PJs and quarries simultaneously, that is a huge injection of resources into the game every day. And of course, as instanced PJs & quarries are now risk free, a lot more players use them, compounding the generation of resources into the server. Now I see quite a few bases with dozens of large furnaces & oil refineries just churning out resources. It's OK for Survival & Scourge where the surplus resources can be sold to the Black Market for net worth, and that is the intention of most players, but on Pure what can you do with it? Build more, which equals more server lag. Pure might as well be a 10x server. EDIT: The only real change PvE does is stops you being murdered every 5 minutes & gives you the opportunity to experience the gameplay.
-
It's not dramatic, and I 100% agree that instanced public pump jacks and quarries are a major problem on Pure. Instancing has ruined the economy. I used to run shops each wipe, not only because it's what I enjoy, but I relied on the sales to supply me with HQM. Now, I don't need to bother. Plus, there are so many shops now selling everything so cheap, it's better to just recycle the items than sell them. And yes, as an admin, I spoke to a player only yesterday about giving a huge starting amount of resources, guns, ammo, armour to a first time player on the server; It ruins their gameplay and experience. It's the same for those players that put out T2 & T3 workbenches outside for public use: players can get to end game content on day 1. I believe it makes the server boring, and affects player retention. I remember when admins used to build a Community Centre at the start of each wipe. I was given specific instructions to only put out a T1 workbench for the first 2 weeks, a T2 on the 3rd week, and a T3 for the last week of wipe. This was so players had to grind their way up at the start of each wipe. Now, there are a full set of public T1,T2,T3 workbenches at nearly every shop. Lastly, I believe that instancing does not belong on Pure anyway. Pure is supposed to be close to vanilla, not only for the experience, but also so the servers remain in the Community listings on the Rust main menu. Instancing changes the server gameplay too much. TBH, I only have one player who has a fetish for horse poop farming, so that doesn't seem an issue for AU Pure. I do, howerver, see a ton of massive hemp farms, especially along the rivers, that players use to sell cloth to make an obscene amount of scrap. These large hemp farms cause a fair amount of server lag.
-
100% agree. As an admin, I have watched NUMEROUS brand new players (first time on an EZ server) come across a donation box with a sign that says something like "only take what you need", then proceed to empty the whole damn thing out. You don't need 10 pairs of gloves, or 5 different guns dude. But then, here's the kicker: they die to a bear/wolf/fall/radiation and rage quit, leaving all that stuff to despawn out in the wild. There is a severe lack of consideration with a lot of players. I'm also against players who place T2 & T3 workbenches at their shop/CC for public use for the very same reason; what's the point in playing if you go straight to end game on day 1? I know that players who donate have their heart in the right place, but I believe these freebie kinda things negatively impacts the growth of the EZ community because it makes the servers boring.
-
As Speciekuip said: "Im just a bit sick of it when you see them walk away with they're new toy on the back." Kinda obvious if a player has been on the server for 10 minutes and is running around with an M249 or L96. Most players I know that take heli or brad only care about those guns. Maybe the C4 & HV rockets as well, for future use against brad. Yes, naughty players will get away with it in the short term, but they should be diciplined according the the server rules & admin duties, and continued rule breaking wins them a permamnet holiday from the server. It should always catch up with them in the end.
-
I'm am sorry guys that you have to deal with this; you really shouldn't be. Without bashing on any admins, I still stand by the fact that this behaviour should be handled by your server admins. If it happens on the server I admin on, it will be dealt with, even if no admins were online at the time. The stole items should be returned as best as possible, and the offender diciplined accordingly. 3 strikes and then they're out. This behaviour certainly breaks the first server rule: "No raiding, griefing, or looting of any kind." It also should fall under the last rule: "Be a decent human being." But we all know not all players adhere to that last one.
-
That is the job of your server admins: to enforce the server rules. This includes diciplining players taking loot they did not earn.
