I've sent this off to FP. It seems related to the socket bug (i.e parented entities are destroyed if something is removed near it)
Reproduction: Place a table and then place an entity on it, a jack'o'latern then place another deployable next to the table. Destroying the deployable will also destroy the lanterns.
This is a game bug and happens when you fill a miners hat or candle hat with residual fuel left inside of it. You can use the split method to fill it but you have to take out the fuel first.
