The 30-day ban is based on the player's own actions and behavior of disrespect, harassment of players, and their toxicity and disruption while on the US-Scourge server and when participating in the RustEZ Discord. I get that it's easier to blame an admin than the player for their own actions (especially when you have an issue with the admin who placed the ban) -- but a decision I made two months ago is unrelated to a ban placed on someone for their ongoing trolling, player disrespect (calling others on the server a heap of shit, fucking idiot, dumb...) in server global chat and Discord, harassing players on the server, and so on – as noted in the ban report. For those who posted -- I do appreciate the amount of time you've spent penning letters, however, testimonials on behalf of banned players are not considered in the ban appeals process. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Aside from the ban appeal, I know that not everyone in this community (players and staff) will be happy with every decision I make, but if you don't feel welcome here because of how I handled an admin issue, I hope you take the time to message someone in leadership (Death or Granny) to have that discussion.

Our rules regarding player disrespect and harassment apply to all, and admins are held to a higher standard in these matters. I agree that you have helped players on the server, however, being helpful to some doesn't lessen the impact to the players you chose to belittle, harass and troll. Racism is also not tolerated in our community and this ban will not be lifted.

TL;DR 1. Participate in moderation, regardless of your role. 2. Report problem players via website link or Discord #help to ensure admins are aware. 3. Submit an application Thank you for taking time to give feedback! Unfortunately, I can't make people submit an application to join staff and help the community out in an admin role. I get that not everyone wants to volunteer their "leisure/fun game time" and wear an admin hat, but letting players know the rules, helping new players out, answering questions and reporting problem players is something everyone can do - regardless of their role. When players participate in the moderation, new players catch on and problem players are weeded out much faster. And yeah -- there will always be players that don't get it. If you see it happening and you want to help the community, report them (see below). I can say with certainty that admins would rather be informed of these players (so they can follow up on it and take the appropriate action) than to be unaware of the player or situation. The rule is no camping. If you are aware this is happening, take a minute of your time to report the player(s) to ensure admins on your server are aware. Don't assume they already know about it -- assume they don't and report it. Speak with an admin in game if one is online Use our Discord: #help @(insert server tag here) PlayerName is camping Brad at Location. You can also use the Report a Player link or file a ticket on the site if you prefer to report the player privately. Public monuments and events are server-wide events in public spaces and typically aren't meant to be soloed. If others want to participate there's nothing you can do about it – they want to have fun, the same as you. Compromise is a big part of playing on a community server. - If players join and participate: share the loot. Most players do. If they don't report them. - If players join and take the loot w/o participating (or fires one arrow kind of deal and say "BUT I HELPED" and snags the crates) , report them. - If players are being greedy and claiming (hogging) events and not letting others participate, report them. Offender: ToM1x (Steam) (Battlemetrics) Server: EU Scourge Time: 5:36 ET (US) Length: Permanent Reason: Player harassment More Info: ToM1x entered another player's base while they were building and putting lock on their door. Took their vehicle from lift and smashed around inside the base, while trolling and being toxic to the players in voice chat. ToM1x refused to exit the vehicle and leave the base, after being warned by admin in voice chat.

Your efforts certainly do help curb the problem and the time you spend posting in #help or on the website is appreciated. Admins are not automatically in the know or see everything happening on the server. Admins are players too. Sometimes we're fighting a horde of zombies, smacking trees to build a base or doing admin stuff -- like dealing with another player or doing an event -- and miss it. The best "admin tool" we have to find and remove these players from the servers is the community. Making the choice to TP away and ignore the problem player -- well, that's certainly your choice to do so -- but admins are not mind readers. We need the community to report these players, to ensure we're aware. If Player A stole your loot, report them. If Player B is trolling you with and endless supply of rockets, report them. If you feel that reports you do make are ignored then that's valuable feedback. It tells me that we need to work on making sure players who do report are aware of the action taken against the player, so you're not left feeling ignored. We'll work on this. Being a world class asshole is not exclusive to new players. We've been taking a firmer stance on banning players who fit the "havoc" description with improved ban filters to immediately ban these players and making sure staff has a good process to handle the ones not caught by the script. Players who troll, harass others, exhibit toxic (or racist) behavior and create drama in the servers and community are not welcome here. This applies to new players and existing players who instigate, disrupt and ruin the PvE community experience for all of us. Warnings and bans are applied equally, regardless of the player's role and how much time they've spent in the community.

It would be nice to see an additional icon or notification used to help players distinguish between public and personal helis. It's announced in global chat – but that tends to scroll off the screen in no time.
