  1. This might work for scourge/survival but does nothing for pure. Pure has a pretty high pop. Even without hoarders, I don't think there are enough cars for everyone who wants one, to have one.

Making them craftable is a great idea but I don't agree with any of the rest.

Meant to be in the wild. Forcing people to craft them is just a punishment for the more casual players.

You can run a 4 mod with 3 storage containers. 2 if you want double engine. More than enough for a solid roadside run.

Campers, maybe a little extra storage? But def should still need a lift and maybe a small hut for excess storage. You also would still need a bed. You can't log out in a car. It kicks you out. Keep the decay on. Leave decay as is. People would lock and park them in/around launch instead of using bags.

Second this, and I would add CH47 crates to this list if possible. This wipe (EU Survival) I've had one CH47 crate stolen literally from right underneath my feet, two attempts to steal Bradley loot (one apparently partially successful), and two attempts to mine the dead tank without asking, not to mention hearing other similar reports in chat; the proposed change would have mitigated all of those.

There is a different plugin for hacked crates. It requires you to have a laptop to hack it. It consumes the laptop but it locks the crate to whoever hacked it. Could be possible to take the laptop out of the equation.

  3. Based on the convo Marija and I are having, I do see the downside but I don't think it's a determining factor. Essentially, that if a crate is locked to me but she did 2 rockets to my 5, then what's stopping me from taking all the loot? Same thing that would stop me now without the plugin.  Common decency and admins. If 2 people do brad, the rules would still obligate sharing. Get an admin involved if there is a problem. Only difference being is she couldn't look to see what's in the boxes. Which is unfortunate, but I feel the pros greatly outweigh the cons. This plugin is purely to stop blatant thievery. Which is and has been an issue for as long as PvE servers have existed.

And people who have hard time taking Brad would be locked out of crates as you said. It used to take  me 15 min min, 10 deaths and 17 rockets. Someone like you, for example, could have easily came and "claimed" crates with your Brad skills if that mod was implemented.

Not sure I follow. Sent you a PM on discord rather than clutter up this post.

  5. That's not a bad idea actually. In terms of personal bags, could be something like /bag1 /bag2, etc. I think it's up to 10? But I actually am opposed to porting anyways lol. I definitely use it but would not be mad if it was taken out.

  6. Ongoing problem I see is random players looting brad/heli crates that they either did no damage on or super minimal damage. I don't know if there is something on codefling similar to Loot Defender but it's a Nivex plugin and he has some really good stuff.

    https://umod.org/plugins/loot-defender

I'm sure @Death knows what it is but it basically puts a lock on the crates to the person/team who did X percentage of the damage. Preventing people who did no/little damage from stealing loot. Downside being if someone did a decent amount of damage but still less than the percentage, they'd be locked from loot and would have to sort it out with the player who did more. But have to do that now without a plugin if that happens anyway.

Also locks the carcass from being mined by random players as well but can be set to a timer to unlock after a given time.

Simple solution for a long ongoing problem.

I could make a quick video tutorial about the basics of blockers, switches and solar panels. Mentioning how wind turbines are necessary most of the time and how excessive use of these and search lights can cause performance issues. I'd keep it as short as possible.

I've often done these at work for almost 14 years now, for various purposes. All I'd need is the EZ logo in it's original format (.ai, .eps, .psd).

Absolutely should and post in tips and tricks. Problem is all these videos exist. People just dont know or dont care. But having one directly here would be great.

One of the problems too with the amount of windmills. A lot of people don't know how to use power effectively and split their power with splitters and waste a lot of power when they should be using branches to branch out the needed power instead of using splitters. Splitters have their use when you need to split power equality to 2 or 3 parts. Like if you were powering 3 doors, branch out the power to a splitter that splits to the 3 doors. But people are using splitters and waster 30 power here and there. So they just spam more windmills to try and solve their power problems.

Removing splitters until you follow a guide  and pass an exam on how to use them properly would be nice. Also people who do farms and just spam Sprinklers and lights. You only need 2 sprinklers and 2 lights for 6 planters. 2X3. But because people don't know how the water divides and is calculated. They also spam sprinklers.  That is why the huge farms cause lag on the server. Because people just spam as they don't know  how to be efficient, and it just multiplies this problem as they move up and expand said farm.

Another issue, there should be a limit on how many composters one can deploy. How many TC one can deploy, add decay, reduce the stack size in TC. So things would decay naturally. And reduce lag

New players. Teach them. Or at least point them to a video or something. Can't expect everyone to know everything right away.

Composters, leave em. Just the ability to sell compost to bandit camp. It's been exploited forever. TC's, don't see how that will solve anything as you can just keep building off of one. Need to limit the size of the builds. Decay is a thing on scourge/survivor but a fraction of vanilla. I'm in favor of it being normal across all servers. Absolutely should turn on decay on Pure. It should be as close to the real thing as possible as that's really the point of pure isn't it?

Just my thoughts and being open as usual. I think they are afraid if they start limiting stuff, will lose to many people. But it seems like a catch 22. Can't please everyone. But ultimately, needs to be a set in stone rule about buildings. Size and entities.

  9. Creative sometimes end up being the most obnoxious. Height limit reached. A crap ton of electrical stuff. All that can put a strain on the server or at the very least, various individuals if they get to close. Big builds are usually better because they might actually have less entities.

When I first joined the server, there was this feature, that broadcasted the longest distance kill with a weapon. I thought this was hilarious and funny and really miss seeing it pop up. But, I feel like that's a feature that could be expanded on just a little bit. Like, include with it a feature that keeps a zombo/enemyNPC/animal kill count. Maybe small prizes for people who have reached certain murder milestones. Like, maybe 100 zombos = tombstone or something. Something fitting / funny to add to your home as sort of a badge of honor. I don't know. I feel like it would add a little bit of friendly competition and reason to actively seek out and hunt things together.

That particular plugin broke and if I recall, no longer was updated. Death mentioned plans to do his own at some point. That second thing is doable for sure. Quest plugin that can be setup for any number of things. To include a set number of kills of a certain type of npc and rewarded with whatever it's set to give out.

  11. Beating a dead horse but big builds absolutely should be limited/monitored. Monster builds absolutely cause problems for people. As well as the pickle farms which honestly, I thought would be dead by now with the changes to that.

As previously mentioned, servers do not wipe on the first Thursday of the month for AU. Because of timezones AU servers wipe Friday morning after the first Thursday of the month.

But yeah, it's still not hard to remember when wipe is. Set a calender reminder in your smartphone people.

I hate this time of each month, because I am so tired of answering that question over and over. That, and "is it a bp wipe also?"

I will say that when we did have a CC on the map, I had a big ass sign up, with big ass writing, stating when the next wipe was (I have seen AU Scourge take this one step further and set up a security camera pointing at the sign). But I still get asked this question a hundred times a day.

Same thing I already said. It's mostly new people that dont know the schedule. It does get old but never gonna end. Lot of new players every month.

  13. 1 hour ago, aNoNiM said:

Wipe is the first Thursday of the Month.  Not sure why it's so difficult that people need this. Buy a calendar now that they are 50%-75% off and circle the first Thursday of every month and add "Wipe".

Mostly comes from new players who aren't familiar with the schedule yet.

  14. I've seen way less complaints this wipe so keep to what's working. I do second what Postanou said in regards to possibly regulating builds anyway.

    16 hours ago, Postanou said:

Keep the same, at least for January, until the kids go back to school.

Otherwise increase admin powers to regulate player builds.

  15. For the first one, there was. But it was being spammed and flooding chat so they took it out.

I wouldn't mind windmills as much if people actually used them properly vs on the ground or right on their roof. Which is why they think they need so many. Searchlights are just awful. Take em out of the game...

Right, I see what you mean. After the 2 HV rockets it should have taken like only 2 C4... hunh

So it looks like combat log for whatever reason logs c4 twice. So it would have been 2 hv and 2 c4. I just did it with 3 c4 to test and it has each c4 on their twice. Like it hits twice per c4 basically. Also, sub 4 seconds. 🤣

So unless they messed with c4 damage, it should only be 3 c4. Weird kill...

This is like 20.1 seconds right?

Not stated but don't think C4 was part of the challenge. Also, no. Going from first hit, sub 45.

    Also, wtf... 2 rockets and 4 c4?

As a brand new player to the server I would like to offer my opinion as a newcomer. I would like to see higher costs to using TP and more zombies. I get it that the title says EZ, but on the Scourge server I think many would welcome increased difficulty. I am horrible at PVP and even as a fresh spawn there was no challenge to handling them with just a bow. They need to be tougher and possibly have more of them roaming. If they are too great of a challenge for a player, there are the Pure and Survival servers as options.  I am also not accustomed to teleporting all over the map and have always been in the habit of using a horse to roam the map. Teleporting should be either capped to X times per day or have the cost continue to increase with each use and not cap at 200. I get it that teleporting is a huge time saver for players that can't play many hours (like myself), but roaming the map I feel is an integral part of  the Rust experience. The final thing I was surprised by was the hundreds of pump jacks, large furnaces & oil refineries at so many bases. My FPS was less than half of what I usually experience while on the server, and I am not sure why a single base would need several pump jacks, 6 large furnaces & 6 oil refineries for a PVE server. I would like to see those capped at just 2 versus 6 only because of the server lag it seems to cause.

That being said, I did enjoy the server and it has MANY refreshing mods to make it a very enjoyable experience for players. I am looking forward to becoming a VIP in the next week. I also look forward to exploring all the unique monuments and events on the server.

Edit: sorry I am now seeing this should have gone into the suggestions thread and most has already been covereds in that thread.

Zombies are broke until facepunch un-fucks their mistake which hopefully will be this next wipe but I don't think it's a big priority for them. Def agree there should be more and variety. Problem with traditional zombies is they are stupid. Stand on any player made platform, easy pickings. There is an option somewhere to let the scarecrows have beancans. I even spent a brief amount of time where they had a plugin that some zombies had guns and survey charges. Having never used a survey charge, they hurt... But again, facepunch needs to fix their mistake or Death would have to use a plugin to heavily modify them.

As someone who uses the teleport function, it's convenient yet game breaking. I'm all for just eliminating it altogether but then we'd go back to the problem we had before of way to many random bags and people just suicide traveling. Really isn't an easy fix for this on imo short of making the suicide a super long cd and actually limiting how many beds you can place. Both can be done but don't see either happening. You can get around the suicide cd by drowning, finding a bear, etc. There is a limit to beds for the teleport function but not for death traveling.

Far as the pump jacks, etc. People trade in fuel for the in game currency.

Good feedback. VIP is so worth it.

    Hi drew,

I'm sorry that you felt it was needed to post this. I'm sorry for your fellow gamers who share your sentiments.

I admin on the AU Pure server. Even in that back corner of the EZ community, under 3 logs and 2 rocks, I have heard similar grumblings. There have been forum posts alluding to it as well. I have had for the past few wipes, several US based players play on AU because it's quieter (possibly other reasons as well, I don't know).

I'm not about to go on a crusade to bash anyone. I would, however, like you to consider, before you leave the EZ community all together, trying out AU Scourge for a wipe or two, and see how it goes for you. It may not be the best ping for you, but you might find it more suitable.

The AU team (Pure, Scourge & Survival) work together, share information, and have similar attitudes. I think you might enjoy the aussie humour for a change 🙂

I have been an admin for nearly 2.5 years, head of AU Pure for 2 years. I have trained quite a few admins over my time, including a couple of admins on AU Survival, which have in turn trained some admins on AU Scourge. The point is the AU admin team are laid back and easy to get along with, with similar temperments. However, we enforce the exact same EZ rules that you are used to, and we do not tolerate any BS, or favouritism. Doesn't matter who they are, how long they have been part of the community, or how much money they throw around; break the rules and there are consequences.

TLDR: Before you leave the community, come try out the AU servers!

Adding to that, try the EU one as well if your PC can handle it. I'm US based and switched to EU over similar issues.
