RustEZ is hosting a Rustmas Build Contest for players on all RustEZ servers. Build an original holiday-themed place and enter to win RustEZ store credits for next wipe!

Build Requirements

The Rustmas build must be:

•             Build size consisting of a maximum of 20 foundations. You may also include a ground-level attached deck area (up to 10 foundations, not enclosed) and use the ground space around your build for Rustmas decorations.

•              Use at least 5 different Rustmas holiday items in the build.

•              You must have at least 1 Christmas Tree with all 7 decorations.

How to Enter

Enter one of your holiday builds that meet the requirements above. Reply to this forum thread and provide the following details by. Inactivity purged builds and decayed builds before tour date, will be disqualified

•              Your in-game name (note if you're an admin)

•              The server your Rustmas build entry is on (i.e. AU-Survival, EU-Pure, US-Scourge and so on)

•              The map grid ID location of the build

•              Max 2 screenshots: One showing the front of the build and one interior screenshot.

This time, you’ll dress up your base (and yourself if you want) after any movie, person, or thing that you’d like. It can be spooky, or not so spooky, it’s completely up to you!

BUILD REQUIREMENTS
The build must be a stand-alone single detached themed build (no towns/villages to ensure an enjoyable event experience for all).

HOW TO ENTER
To enter, reply to this forum thread and include:

• Your server & region (i.e. AU Scourge)
• Your in-game name (i.e. Samakeen)
• The name of your build (i.e. Samakeen's Spoopy Shack)
• The Map Grid ID of your build (i.e. C13)

Maximum of 2 screenshots of your build: One screenshot of the front, one interior/other screenshot of your choice

BUILD TOUR EVENTS
Build contest ends later this wipe to ensure players have time to decorate their builds after the official Halloween update.  Unfortunately, this doesn't leave much time to plan our Build Tour event. Admins will do their best to host server events (Oct 28-30) so participants can offer tours of their build.

In an attempt to cover all time zones, we will be running 3 rounds of tours. Note that all tours will cover all regions These will be hosted at:

Round 1 - 28th 4pm EST / 28th 9pm BST / 29th 6am AEST

Round 2 - 28th 9pm EST / 29th 2am BST / 29th 11am AEST

Round 3 - 29th 5am EST / 29th 10am BST / 29th 7pm AEST

BUILD CONTEST PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded per region  and admins will participate in their own category.  Winners will be chosen by admin & build tour participant votes. An additional in-game prize (for next wipe) will be awarded based on Tour Event  / Forum votes.

As you mentioned above, the language used, and the toxicity you displayed at the time of this ban was completely unacceptable.

Player was continuously harassing another player. Console warn was sent to advise them of rules. Player immediately acknowledged warning then carried on shooting the other player in the face, so was kicked. After the kick the player returned and immediately started looking for the other player again. Appeared to player & requested they stop harassing others & leave them be, proceeded to continuously harass me instead, even when warned it would result in a ban. Banned as player clearly has no interest in playing & solely focused on disrupting the gameplay of others

What the heck is bait value, anyway?

Short answer: To catch higher tier fish, you need higher tier bait!

For the sake of keeping things simple, I'm only including items from the new update in this. You can use other foods, look for the bait value in the item information:

In the below table are the new fish & baits, along with:

• Bait Value - how much they are worth if placed as a bait in the fishing rod
• Bait Required - what bait value do I need to catch this sucker?

The strats!

How do I make the most out of my fishing? Here's the tips I have for you so far:

• If you have worms & grubs, chuck them on there to build up your Tier 1 fish. If you're lucky, the grub might even catch you a small trout!
• Don't use your tier 1 fish as bait! You are better off gutting it and using the raw fish as bait instead, raising your bait value from 3 to 5
• Your tier 2 fish are a gamble. Do I gut them and take the 4 raw fish or do I use it as bait to try to get the tier 1? Take care here, you may just get an anchovy as a swap!

That's everything so far! No doubt as the mechanics grow/change, I will be coming to update this with more of my mistakes so you don't need to make your own! If I have missed something, please feel free to add it in.

So, what can I catch?

There are now 3 tiers of fish you can catch.

Tier 1:

• Anchovy
• Herring
• Sardine

You can catch these 3 little guys in any sort of water

Tier 2:

• Yellow perch (Rivers & swamps)
• Small trout (Ocean & underwater labs in the moon pools)

Tier 3:

• Catfish (Rivers & swamps)
• Orange Roughy (underwater labs)
• Small shark (Ocean over 4.5m in depth & underwater labs)
• Salmon (any body of water over 4.5m in depth)

What makes them tier 3? When you gut them you get loot! Other then the usual fishy innards, you have a chance to find:

• Scrap
• Blue Keycard
• Cloth
• Pistol Bullets
• Flare

The wooden spoon:

Sometimes when using a bait value of 0.5-2.5 you'll get the wooden spoon of catching junk. Junk doesn't fight once its hooked, so if its a straight reel in you can expect to see one of these:

• Diving Fins
• Tarp
• Small Water Bottle
• Water Jug
• Human Skull
• Water Bucket
