  1. The infinite nodes may be due to the new mini game system and the infinite cactus drops sound alerming but sadly this is all game related and I have no control over this. Commenting on quarries, this has been much of a discussion recently and the only explanation I can possibly provide is that quarries lose its richness over time so you cannot keep using the same one. This is just a wild thought.

  2. @bleaumeani you can disable chat in settings. The best way to remedy this is with the ban hammer which has already been done. Also, I'm sure @Fyreswrath will not be so easily deterred by a few spoiled kids with entitled internet access. She's a tough woman!

What I plan to do to prevent this from happening in the future:
    1) Add a chat filter to replace or remove banned words before they're even sent
    2) Deploy more staff on that server during swing shift
    3) Sharpen the ban hammer

  3. This section is primarily for VIP related discussion and should only be used if you plan to make fun of another player who cannot access this section. Requests are for recycler relocation and after wipe respawns or just general inquiries. Please reply to this thread with the dankest meme possible to ensure you acknowledge this new section and can utilize it to its full compacity.

  4. I will look into a maturity filter for the chat and I'm opposed to having a vote kick feature as it wouldn't take much effort for a small group to assemble to abuse the feature. Thanks for all the suggestions!

    Rust Updates #169
This weeks update includes new tips, UI menu improvements, DX9 end of life, a new minigame and Iceberg progression. Find out more on all these topics down below in this weeks RustEZ guide to Dev Blod #169.

    New Mini-game
This weeks update has introduced some unique changes into the game including a "node mini-game" which simulates the player mining for actual precious metals while also granting increased yield and cutting the time it takes to mine a node in half. This seems to add a different perspective to farming, however, the time it takes to navigate a node to find the sparkle doesn't seem too cost efficient unless you're using primitive tools or even a rock.

    DX9 EOL
Although OpenGL is by far the better choice, Rust will always default to DX and instead, use OpenGL as a fallback in the event the machine running it cannot operate using DX. Because of this Face Punch has opted to replace DX9 support with OpenGL just as a fallback method.

    EAC Update
Chances are you've already encountered the "EAC Disconnect" This occurs when your client stops communication to EAC servers causing an authentication rejection. EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) is an integrated 3rd-party system used to prevent top-level bots, overlays and of course the infamous AHK (auto hot key.) Although it's easily bypassed it provides a relatively safe environment for PvP players.

    Menu UI Improvements
New UI additions have been added to the games launch menu adding a Find Game and an exit confirmation because we all know easy it is to hit the exit button rather than the settings cogwheel.

    Icebergs
Though they will not be available this update it seems FacePunch has made forward progression on bringing back icebergs into the game. No real information about the change has been provided so we'll leave it at that.

    Minor Changes
Now for the tedious and minor changes majority of players will most likely not even notice.

    • Item description changes.
    • Campfires now displace grass.
    • Grass now displaces around nodes.
    • Grass has been scaled down 10%.
    • The size of nodes has been decreased for better performance.
    • Nodes found in snow biomes are now easier to see and differentiate.
    • Metal nodes now show more oxidation.

  6. @mspeedie being able to twig on pure is both a good thing and a bad thing. It's bad knowing someone can twig over defenses but the good thing is that it's prepping players for vanilla game play. The majority of PVP servers have twigging enabled and I would not want to give a new player the wrong idea about the game and end up being blindsided in the real world. The community tab is nothing but vanilla because Rust, face punch, does not want new players to think mods are part of the game. That's why there's a dedicated modded section.

As for quests and NPCs, there is something in the works for the modded PvE server.

PS: I noticed I haven't yet made a suggestions and feedback thread for the pure server.
