We're hosting a new build contest for players on all RustEZ servers. Build a public Easter-themed shop or community space and enter to win store credits and other in-game prizes for next wipe!  The build can be anything you choose (food market, tea shop, weapons, disco, pub, café -- be creative), however it must follow these rules: 

• Stand-alone shopfront or public community space, not connected to your base or other build
• Must be within 10 foundations from the above-ground railroad track
• Maximum build size of 25 foundations (you may use 10 additional foundations to create a walkway from the tracks to your build entrance)
• Maximum 3 walls height (plus roof if applicable)
• Contains at least 5 Rust Easter items
• Sign or banner near entrance with your build (or IGN) name

HOW TO ENTER

You may enter only one build. Reply to this forum thread and provide the following details by Midnight EST (5 am GMT) Sunday, April 24, 2022.

• Your in-game name
• The server your contest build entry is on (i.e. AU-Survival, EU-Pure, US-Scourge and so on)
• The map grid ID location of the build
• One screenshot showing the front of the build
• One screenshot showing the interior of the build

PRIZES

1st ($10 EZ Credit), 2nd ($5 EZ Credit), and 3rd (3x Supply Drops) will be chosen on Pure, Survival, and Scourge (all regions included for each) and admin builds as a separate category. Winners will be chosen by community forum poll vote, after admins have verified the build meets the requirements.

We will meet in Discord and on the EZ servers to board the Easter Express train on April 29/30th, stopping at each contest entry build along the route. Build Tour event times will be posted in advance in Discord. The community forum poll vote will be posted following the Build Tours Event.

The option to solo any server event is near non-existent in a busy PvE community. If you feel the need to solo it -- then yes, call a personal on the modded servers for the best chance at being able to do that.

Multiple people can and will shoot at an attack heli. At the end of the day, others are trying to have fun and enjoy doing the same things you are (i.e. do server events). Once the heli event is over, all qualifying players can loot each crate to access their own loot instance.  For heli, the top 5 players who dealt the most damage, and dealt at least 500, will qualify for loot.  

And yeah, I get it. Taking it out on your own is fun, but it's rare for that to happen. With the loot instancing, you can still fully participate in the server event and earn the loot rewards if you do enough damage.

With that said, if another player or their team is actually hogging it and not allowing others to participate (which is difficult seeing as how up to 5 qualifying players are rewarded) then ping an admin on your server to review server event logs.  If it is a case of one player taking them all the time then admins will speak to said player about their actions and what they need to do in order to stop ruining the PvE gameplay experience for others. Usually a friendly visit from your resident admin team will help sort that out.

In all honesty I doubt decay will solve this problem. The very nature of PvE makes it easy to gather resources uncontested and stockpile it. Players will simply divert the many, many boxes of mats they keep on salvaged shelves to their TC.

Decay, while it might impact a handful of players who build large, the biggest impact will be to our single (non-team) players and our casual players in the community. Even a duo can farm enough mats in 2 days to last a whole wipe with decay. But a single player or casual player who just logs in a few times a week will be the ones who struggle with this -- and chances are they are not the players who are excessively building and farming.  That's just my $0.02 general commentary on the topic.

In saying that, I absolutely, 100% agree that the composter farms are an issue. Death has made changes on the backend to improve this by making it more taxing on players who do this, but obviously more work is needed here, as evident by the forum posts and in-game chatter about how it impacts your experience on the servers. It might be time to take this one back to the drawing board and discuss internally what changes we can make on the backend that will mitigate this without punishing everyone else (i.e. the vast majority of our community of players who are not doing this in an excessive manner).

If I enter a cave and someone built there and blocked usage of the cave system for the entire player base of the server, I'd ping an admin so they were aware and could send a warning to said player so the player could adjust their build to ensure the cave is accessible to all.

People build in caves every wipe, on every server. It's not that difficult to build and ensure you leave enough space for others to have passage through the cave.  

Entire islands should not be fenced off – by players or admins.  Even in the case of a large team using an island, we would ask they ensure there is an opening (or a gate unlocked or locked but left opened) to allow players to pass through. If this happens again, please let your admin know (or post in # help on Discord and tag the server). This will alert admins to the issue so they can check in with players building in this way and work with them to ensure all players have safe passage through.

Not promising. In the past we've had unexpected consequences when using these outside the intended purpose and placement in the game.

Kidding aside, if a player just wants to just hog it - ping an admin to assist with the communication. Always happy to help!

Join us for a shockingly good time in this gruesome game show that you have to see to believe!  In Tesla Terror players are confined to their own space with their very own fully charged and ready to fry coil. Each coil is attached to a random numbered switch on the board. Players take turns picking a number to try and eliminate other contestants.

Choose wisely! You could burn your Rusty BFF or pick your own Tesla switch...

WHEN: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2022 – 9 PM EST

How the Event Works

• Players join the event with an empty inventory and no access to backpacks.
• The first 18 players to successfully grab a seat will play for prizes.
  * Note: We will assign groups to accommodate all players who join the event.
• Once all of the seats have been filled, hosts will start the game.
• During the game hosts go in order and have players select numbers until everyone has been eliminated except for the final player.

There is up to three rounds of play depending on total number of event participants. The initial rounds will award in-game prizes, with EZ store credit prizes awarded in the final round.

Details

• The build can be anything you chose -- your base, public shop, community center or any space you choose to create
• Fit the "Love Shack" theme
• You must place at least one heart in the build (i.e. sign, lights, skinned item...)
• The name of your build must include the word Love (or any variation of the word) and be posted on a sign by the front door/entry area
