Problem: I can't reload my weapon
This is a pretty common problem that is usually the result of terrible net code between you and the game.

Solution: Look into the sky while reloading (Press R to reload).

Problem: Red Error text Covering Game

• My screen is covered in red text
• Constant red errors scrolling on my screen

Solution 1: This will stop the error text from scrolling in-game.
Note: The errors will still appear in your console, but you'll be able to play without the annoyance of scrolling red error text in your game.

1.    Press F1 to open the console
2.    Type the following in the console and press Enter:

console.erroroverlay false

Problem:  Sleeping - Can't Wake up!

• I can't wake up when I log in
• I'm stuck in sleeping mode
• I can't wake up when I respawn (or revive on modded servers)

Solution 1: Press: ESC, ESC, and then Left-mouse click. 
Hit Escape (opens the game menu). Hit Escape a second time (closes the menu).  Click the screen to wake up.

Solution 2: Press: ESC, ESC, and then press Space bar (jump key).

If this did not fix the issue, keep reading...

Solution 3: F1 Kill and Logout
If the above does not wake you up, then take the following steps in the order listed, exactly as described:

1. Press F1 to open the console
2. Type Kill and press Enter.
3. Disconnect from the server when the kill screen displays: do not respawn!
   •  To Disconnect from the server:
   • Press ESC to open the game menu
   •  Select Disconnect
4. Close Rust out completely
5. Launch Rust  and reconnect to the server
6. Once connected, select Respawn from the death screen. Only Respawn will work – do not select Revive if that option is available to you.

Problem:  Various Errors

• Frequent disconnects from the server 
• Frequent game freezing
• Error messages including: EAC Violation (excluding EAC temp ban), ArgumentOutOfRangeException, NullReferenceException, Steam Auth Timeout (when game is launched through Steam) that persist after a restart of the PC, Steam client and Rust.
• Game closes (crash)

Solution 1: Download updates and Verify the Integrity of the Game Files
Ensure both your Steam app and Rust client is up-to-date and no downloads are pending.

Download Updates:

1.    Close Rust and Steam out completely
2.    Launch Steam and check for a pending Steam client update
3.    Select Library, then select Rust from the list
4.    Download any pending updates

Verify the Integrity of the Game Files:

1.    Open Steam, select Library, then right-click on Rust
2.    Select Local Files, and then select Verify integrity of game files

Relaunch Steam & Rust. If this did not fix the issue, keep reading...

Solution 2: Opt out of Steam beta, and Clear the Steam download cache.
If you still experience the error after following the steps above, continue with the following steps

Opt out of Steam Beta

1.    Open Steam, select Settings, and then select Account and press the Change button under Beta Participation. 
2.    In the Beta Participation menu, select None – Opt out of all beta programs.
3.    Restart your Steam client.

Clear the Download Cache

1.    Open Steam, select Settings, and then select Downloads and press the Clear Download Cache button. 
2.    Select OK to confirm. You will need to login to Steam again.

Relaunch Steam & Rust. If this did not fix the issue, keep reading...

Solution 3: Reinstall Steam & Rust
If you still experience the error after following the easier (and less time consuming) steps above, most users in our Discord report that a complete reinstall of their Steam and Rust fix the issue.

Admins moderate this on an as-needed basis.

If it's happening on your server post in #help on our Discord and tag the server with a note about it so admins are aware. You can also send us a Help ticket with the details if you prefer not to post in a public forum.

Good idea. Other than 1 bone knife and 1 bone club on wipe day (if needed) and the rest collected during the wipe I throw away.

I forgot I stated that in the rules this time to ensure we could have access for the Build tours.

Not required, but best to have some area accessible to public.  When we do the build tours event,  we take players in the areas of the build that's open to the public. We'll skip private bases that are completely locked up during the event. 

The word is out about how amazing my coffee is! They were lined up for that sweet, sweet java.

I suspect that's by design as large power stations would no doubt cause unnecessary server performance issues for players – and create a network of wires across the map, which wouldn't be enjoyable for most people on the server.  A suggestion along this line might be to simply set up shop on a smaller scale and offer power service to only those near your base so you can still experiment with the mechanics of electrical systems and have fun with it. Perhaps offer in-base services to players who are looking for a little help getting their bases lit up.

There's Something Fishy About that Shack...

We're hosting a build contest for players on all RustEZ servers. Build a public fishing shack or any fishing-themed build (i.e. fishing hut/shack, bait shop, fishing tours, etc.) and enter to win RustEZ store credits and other in-game prizes for next wipe!

The fishing build must follow these rules: 

• Be a public build (i.e.  Accessible to players on the server). Remember to secure access to your private base and items, if connected. 
• Name your fishing build and place at least one sign with the name on the outside.
• Builds removed due to inactive purge or decay prior to Aug 26 are not eligible for prizes.

HOW TO ENTER

You may enter only one build. Reply to this forum thread and provide the following by midnight EST (5 am GMT) Monday, August 23, 2021. Post your entry in advance of your final build so we can follow your progress! Team builds are eligible, however only one person from your team can enter the build.

• Your in-game name
• The server your contest build entry is on (i.e. AU-Survival, EU-Pure, US-Scourge) and so on. 
• The map grid ID location of the build
• One screenshot showing the front of the build 
• One screenshot showing the interior of the build  
• Admin entries are a separate category with one prize awarded - you may use admin tools for your entry. Please note "Admin Build" in your forum post.

PRIZES

Finalists will be chosen by staff and participant votes during the build tours event. Prizes will be awarded as follows:

• First Place: $10 RustEZ store credit 
• Second Place : $5 RustEZ store credit
• Third Place: 3x Supply signals (for next wipe)
• Build Tours: Participant's Choice Award: 3x Supply signals (for next wipe)
• First Place (Admin Build): $10 RustEZ store credit 

BUILD TOURS

Staff will host a Fishing Tour Event, tentatively planned for August 25. We'll gather in Discord and move around to RustEZ servers to tour the Fabulous Fishing contest builds.  Event servers will be announced in this post and in our Discord prior to start times.  In-game prizes and Steam keys will be handed out to participants who join us in Discord and on the servers during the Tour event. Fishing kits will be provided during the event.
