Based on the ban report, this level of griefing another player, destroying parts of their base and then taunting and belittling them after the fact is absolutely not welcome on our servers.  The ban has been updated and is permanent.

Sharla.windrider is awesome! If anyone needs help on the server setting up electricity, they always offer to go to the player and help them out. I kept "avoiding" electricity for a long time. When I finally decided to give it a try to get lights going in my base, Sharla came to help me even though I was doing very basic things that most people know and I felt silly needing help with it.  Even on Discord Sharla replies to questions about electricity, provides diagrams and explanations.  So many people have Sharla to thank for making this often annoying part of Rust fun to do.  Sharla also talks to new players, helps them out, and Arcadia is a regular build and a great place to hang out on the server. All around great player to have on the server!

My first ever time on the Scourge servers I was greeted with the Walking Rust Wikipedia - Chief. He taught me everything we (my team) needed to know about the server being new, and geared us ready to fight the zombies. He taught not only me, but every new player he comes across about the ins and outs of the server, who is who and what does what; making sure we all know rules, how to play, and what to do. He'll help anybody, new or old to the server, spending countless hours teaching people about PvE, about RustEZ and Rust in general, kidnapping newbies and showing them the sights and the best ways to survive, all while having RustEZ at the forefront and showing people what makes us great. Even after 2000+ hours if I have ANY question about Rust, I go to Chief.

Who are the amazing people in our community that deserve recognition, appreciation and a big THANK YOU for the things they do? 

Every day people in our community step up and help others out on the server. Perhaps it was a kind gesture on a bad day, an extra helpful player, someone showing you how to take out Brad for the first time, or someone who has great community spirt and encourages you to have fun.

We hear the stories, but now it's time to call these players out and nominate them for the RustEZ Awesome Player Award! Nominations for the RustEZ Awesome Player Award will be accepted until December 15, 2021.  Winners and prizes will be announced in January 2022, during a live in-game awards ceremony (TBA in January). 

Awesome Player Award winners will be selected by staff (no public votes) from all nominations submitted in this thread. Staff may nominate players; however, nominations for staff members are honorable mentions only as staff will participate in selecting winners.

I usually post instructions on how to claim prizes in the post and forgot on this one. Just ask an admin on the server for in-game rewards and let them know which contest so they can verify your name on the winner's list in the forum.

I absolutely agree with a lot of your comments @Darktweets. Your points are valid. Some just use the feedback forums to complain about admins and vent, so I just want to say that I appreciate players who take time to post positive, constructive feedback and suggestions.

You mentioned porting player to town, pop-ups, and info screens.  From a Survival or Scourge player's perspective that makes sense.  If RustEZ were only modded servers, these sorts of things could be done. But we're not. Pure is a Community server, and therefore limitations on what can be used (i.e. no /info type screens, pop-ups, menus, teleports and so on). 

To communicate rules off the server (i.e. an inbox message) would require players to create an EZ account on the website or or Discord. That's not something we would force on players. If your first experience was to connect to a server to play Rust and you were blocked until you loaded a website and created an account, most new players would simply quit and click the next server on the list. 

Basically, server rules are provided in the one place all players are: on the server (game info screen and /rules). There is a max character limit for text display here, and we're using it. 

Hopefully that helps you understand why our server rules limited to the servers. We know it's not a perfect system, and we work on it when and where we can.  

And no, you don't have to agree with it -- but that's what we have, plus an active staff and solid player base who work as a community to weed out what an auto-ban script can't catch.

Correct. Racism and severely derogatory/homophobic slurs (i.e.  the player actions resulting in a "Racism" or "Language" ban) are not permitted in our community.

Players who break server rules are given a second chance --  but there is zero-tolerance here for racist and homophobic slurs. Banning for this is teaching people a valuable lesson. If it's not tolerated on a game server, hopefully they are able to apply that lesson elsewhere.  

On the contrary, removal of players who thinks it's okay to drop this language in our servers and  spaces creates a more positive and welcoming experience for all players in the community.

Racism is not "mature" it's wrong.

The decision to not lift your ban is in line with how all staff handles Racism and/or Language ban appeals. The language you used on our server is inherently derogatory and is not welcome in any context. 

We do not lift bans for language which has only one usage, that being purposefully racist or severely derogatory. 

Player history, behavior, and positive contributions and interactions within our PvE community are not considered in an appeal for racism or language bans.  
Player member role (Subscriber, Vip etc.) is not considered in any ban appeal.

There is no circumstance in which players doing an action that is listed in a server rule does not = breaking the rules.   

But what if…? No.
But what about when …? No.

But it was on a sign..? No.
But I was drunk..? No.
But I was here first..? No.
But they called me a twat first..? No.
But they took my horse so I decided to...? No.
But the door was unlocked…? No.
But it was just a joke bruh…? No.
But they blocked the waterway so I placed a TC and removed their stuff…? No. 
(Etc.)

There is no example when it is okay to not abide by the 5 basic server rules. There's no justification that a player can provide that will result in an admin saying "Oh, yeah it's ok to break the rules this time because your situation makes it okay to do so."

"No / You may not" means no, don't do it.  Don't try to justify it. 

And remember:  If you're unsure, ask an admin. That's why we are here!
