Vehicles A new addition to the mountable branch has been revealed this week and is set to release in today's update. This new addition is a rusty four-door sedan that can only be spawned in by an admin at this time. Further progress has been mentioned but not in the near future and its implementation is merely for testing to see how Rust can adapt to vehicles and how it will affect gameplay. To test the new vehicles yourself, assuming you're an admin or have a LAN server, type spawn sedan in the console to spawn the newly-added 4-door sedan. To enter the vehicle press E on the driver-side door and use the controls WASD to operate the vehicle. Foliage Visuals Visual improvements for foliage are rolling out in today's update with a noticeable difference in the look, feel and length of the newly updated textures. One of many biome improvements soon to come. Mountable Chairs Set to release the last update, Rust opted into pulling it from the final build due to possible exploits which are now patched and players can expect to see them in today's update! To sit in a chair, walk up to it and press ‘E’. Sitting provides 100% comfort and lets you look around freely. To stand up, simply press spacebar. EAC Improvements Several changes to the EAC SDK have been made recently including a brand new wrapper. Upon loading the game you will be greeted with a redesigned EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) launcher. Mounting Further progression on Mountables branch this week with improvements and a new feature! Players will be able to rotate their camera around while sitting. If you don't follow updates Rust is adding the ability for players to sit in chairs to decrease crafting times. Although it was set to release on 9-14 it was quickly removed before final due to possible exploits in the system. It's unclear whether or not it will be included in this update. Snow Biome Revamps The first batch of biome overhauls is starting to become visible in this weeks update with progression on the new snow biome overhaul adding in a frozen lake, improved textures and natural landmarks spread throughout the new biomes. We can plan to see these new changes and further progression on other biomes next wipe (October 5th.) Optimizations More optimizations will make it in this week which includes improved serialization cache for world generation which entails for better performance and server stability. Environment Improvements Improved spawn handling, node clustering, and increased entity count to preserve resource and animal counts. In addition, the respawn behavior has been tweaked to ensure rapid regrowth in areas that are over farmed or otherwise desolate. Wildlife Improvements Non-hostile mobs will now spawn around monuments while hostile mobs such as bears and wolves will now spawn inside. Custom spawn points have been set up around the map to increase and better control population control outside of the standard spawn handler. Thugs & Stuff The first batch of new rad town AI has been released and are available on a trial basis before released to every monument. Due to the increased reports of players being griefed, we have modified the behavior of demolishing and the remover tool to only be used by the entity owner, clan members, and friends. We appreciate your concern, however, cases like these are best left to admins as we have access to the tools needed to determine this accusation and invoke punishment if needed. In this case, I spoke to @Kapernacus and determined he did not take anything. Muting should only be done if the offender is acting violently in chat. If an issue like this arises again please create a help ticket.
